A noon kick for the B1G game of the day.  Really looking forward to Michigan and Wisconsin.  But Fox picking up games creates some odd schedules.  This game should be at 3:30.  The warmup games should be at noon.  TV rights...

Need to hit the store soon to pick up some food, but what?  Made chili last week.  Wife can't stand bean soup.  Did a pot roast earlier.  Need something low and slow that will fill up the house with some good smells.

Looking way ahead to tonight's SC UCLA crosstown rivalry and joking whether the bigger viewing interest will take place across the country in NYC due to both the Giants & Jets talking about drafting franchise QBs.

Heading out in an hour to my Michigan fan relatives to set up and watch the big showdown Vs Wisconsin.

Max- I think you should get a nice rib roast and do a prime rib. Mix up some herbs, horseradish and salt and crust that baby up. I just read a recipe yesterday from Tyler Florence on that and it sounded great.

Anyway, I'm doing French onion soup, crab legs, corn and homemade fries for tonight. Heading out to Costco as soon as they open.

Mrs. 847 had a spinal fusion Wednesday, otherwise we'd be in Madison. Not liking the weather too much and not glad she needed a fusion, but I'd rather be home today than up there in this crap.

Need to get a nap in here before kids get back from tennis.   Took forever to get through Chicago last evening,  rain made it a mess and a late night.   Pushing 60 degrees here today in Indy. More rain though.

Man I do like some prime rib, though that's a little luxurious a few days before Thanksgiving.  I need to go buy a turkey this morning too.  I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year.  Never done it by myself before, and trying to gameplan.

- Turkey in the oven
- Mashed potatoes on the stovetop
-Mac and cheese on the stovetop
- Greens on the stovetop
- Cranberry sauce make ahead
- Grave on the stovetop
- Stuffing in the crockpot

The whole getting everything ready at once is going to be a challenge.

I've always had a lot of respect for people who can cook big meals with several dishes, all with varying cook times, and have it all hot and ready at the same time.  You don't appreciate that kind of stuff growing up.  As an adult you do though.

how about some country style pork ribs or some beef short ribs in the oven?

Cover them with some homemade kraut the last 20 minutes or so

mm

I made a pot of oyster stew last night - having leftovers for lunch

the oysters were wonderful but the grilled cheese sammich was almost better

Hitting near 60 today, but the rain is relentless.  Might as well have a big game at noon today, I'm not doing anything.

I'm mowing the lawn/leaves this morning then winterizing the mower.  Starting the snowblower just to be sure.

40 degrees and windy out of the northwest

Look up "Good Eats Roast Turkey" or just click on the link below. Once I found that, there is no other way. It's wonderful.

It's impossible to screw it up.

I like FF's idea of the country ribs. Start 'em on the grill to sear then put them in a carnitas sauce in the crock or oven. You can get carnitas sauce from Rick Bayless to make it more easy, if his stuff is available in your store. If not, it's pretty easy to put one together.

She used the same lady as I did for the surgery so she will be fine. I'll pass along the well-wishes. Thanks pal.

I’m not very optimistic about Michigan’s chances today. Badgers are a very good football team. I think Peters shows his youth today and makes a few mistakes. Would like to escape with everyone healthy.

What jerk schedule maker gave Michigan Wisconsin and Ohio State I’m back-to-back weeks?
