TMart when healthy was a game changer and did take them to the BIG Championship game and run through the entire Badger defense twice.

As a RS Freshman he took them to the Big 12 Champ game

The injury-plagued senior season stopped Martinez’s pursuit of several elite statistical milestones. However, Martinez had already cemented his place in the Nebraska record books before his injury. Martinez is Nebraska’s all-time leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and total offense and holds more than 20 school records. Martinez was in position to become just the second quarterback in FBS history to pass for 9,000 yards and rush for 3,000 yards prior to his injury.

I went TMart. It seems mostly even with him and Tommy. I don't know there's anything that pulls Armstrong ahead.

Sadly, one of my lasting memories of Tommy Armstrong was him throwing deep balls in a swirling, misting afternoon in Champaign.   One of the more criminal game plans and clock mgmt performances in football history by Riley. 

Armstrong was a pretty dang good leader.  Very nice career, I think he punched above his tools.

He is one of those guys who never really scared you, but I was plenty happy to see leave.

He was horrible in the 2014 game, I think was briefly benched, but then led that scary comeback.  Then he gave MSU their lone non-CFP loss in 2015 with his ability to find a WR who had run out of bounds on his own, and then come back in.

odd that Armstrong was obviously the better leader, but TMart took his team to 2 conference champ games.

not odd that Pelini was a better team leader than Riley

also not odd that Pelini recruited TMart for his vision of an offense and Armstrong was not Riley's perfect fit
