Heck, it's not even just "big" events or corporate money.  LSU has slowly priced out the average fan of a regular season gameday for the past 15+ years…going to a game there and everything involved is not necessarily something everyone can afford who used to be able to.

This. Even the lower demand events are quickly overpricing themselves. Case in point, in this same 15 year timeframe that I’ve rounded up a few friends to attend an ASU football game about every other year, the ticket prices rise unjustifiably higher each time. I remember four of us spending a combined total of $88 for lower level 25 yard line seats in 2010. Fast forward to this past season and those same seats for the four of us rose to $125 each w/ fees. $500 I’m paying upfront for buddies who believe their seats should still be worth $22 each:
