Not just the corporate tickets, but all of the tickets that have been made available through promotions.  The number of available tickets for the semis vs the title, is vastly different.
Imagine what they would have been had Texas made it. The CFP championship has become Super Bowl "light" in terms of how it has been corporatized. Lots of corporate tent parties and weekend events. Each of the schools blow through their allotment very quickly (20,000 +/- each).

I'll be curious to see what each round ticket prices look like next year in the playoffs

I'm thankful to anyone who served, and especially those who paid the ultimate price.

My son was a sniper in the Marine. Two deployments to Shitstan. He is normal, but knees are a problem, and hearing. No PTSD, thankfully.

Yep. BIL was a SEAL sniper. Can't imagine what he saw (& had to do) over there, but seems to be dealing with it all well. Body is a mess though. He's actually getting significant veterans disability benefits because of all the damage it took on his body. Outwardly he LOOKS normal, but he's far more effed up than a 41 year old should be.

I paid just over $1000 for this seat for UGA v Bama in Indy.  Of course that's 14 miles from my home.  Bought on stubhub three days after semi finals.

I paid $125 for the Rose Bowl bcs title game 20+ years earlier.

$65 for N v Fla at the Fiesta
About the same for N v FSU in '94 OB
I wouldn't pay $100 to watch another team than the Huskers today or ever.
Not sure what I paid at the Board meeting in Madison to see the Badgers beat Michigan but it wasn't $100 - maybe $50

I think I paid about $125 for the Rose Bowl Huskers/Canes.  Pulled up to park on the golf course and as I got out of the rental a guy offered me better seats for $90.
I think my ex paid about $90 for my ticket to the Fiesta vs Spurrier - with my money

but, I'd rather pay $3k for a national champ game ticket to watch Rhule's Huskers than a trip to Europe.

Thanks for your part too, the part of a parent with a deployed kid.

Parents of deployed kids go through a lot of worry and fear that goes unappreciated. My poor mother worried herself sick while I was deployed. Even 10 years later she said she wasn't over it. And that was AFTER two more of her sons had their own deployments. Her second born son did a deployment with the Marines to Middle East. Her fourth born did Afghanistan as an Army infantryman with the Arizona National Guard and saw a lot more action than both of his older brothers.

My Dad, though, didn't worry much at all. Proudly stated "war will make a men out of my boys."
Agreed! My mom had a rule in our house. Your father served so that you don't have to. She was too scared to see us go serve and would have emotional moments when we talked about it with our dad. To this day i wish I wouldn't have listened. I really wanted to be a pilot in the Navy, went through the process, but my vision wasn't 20/20 and back then they only accepted natural 20/20 or better and no corrective surgery was allowed. In hindsight, I'm thankful. Life had other plans.

My son gets a pretty nice chunk for disability too. Not nearly enough for what he went through, but at least it's something.

"We" should be taking much better care of our veterans than, well, never mind. I'm not gonna F this thread up.

yep.. my buddy is the same way. Can't believe what he's been through.. but guys that become that are a different breed. His workouts are fascinating.. never uses weights, but still built like a brick sh*thouse.. His chest day is doing 1000 pushups and he has shrapnel still in his body in different locations.

Your second sentence, don't even get me started. That's a topic that pisses me off to no end.

As for shelling out for an MNC game, I'll never have to worry about it. Ever.
Yep. Same for me.

Hell, even living in SoCal I'll never have to worry about Purdue winning the B1G and playing in the Rose Bowl, and feeling obligated to buy a ticket.

TPTB screwing the sport up massively could result in some $$ savings for me down the line!

like everything else in this god damn country- corporate money has ruined basically every big sporting event and has made it nearly impossible for the regular Joe to attend.

Super Bowl tickets in the early 80s used to be like $50 a pop I want to say. Good luck finding a nose bleed now for anything under $2k.

Only way you can go to these things now a days is if you’ve got the extra cheese to just blow or if you’ve got a plug.

Heck, it's not even just "big" events or corporate money.  LSU has slowly priced out the average fan of a regular season gameday for the past 15+ years.  Although I think the current AD has tried to alleviate some barriers, but going to a game there and everything involved is not necessarily something everyone can afford who used to be able to.

this happened at UNL in the mid 90's thanks to some success

expanded the stadium to help with demand, now removing seats

I went in 2001 when Ohio State played Miami.

Purchased a package which included airfare, hotel for 2 nights, seats in the second deck ( were actually good seats), transportation to and from stadium and pregame festivities.

Of course it was expensive-like $3000 at the time.

But it was an event of a lifetime- memories forever.  Your team ( unless you are Bama lol) doesn’t get there very often.  Just a decision you will make.
I had a friend on the Fiesta Bowl Committee back then and I was able to get 2 tickets at cost.  Ended up giving them to my parents for Christmas so my dad, a life long buckeye, could go to the game.  They lived in Phoenix area, so no real other costs.  They did attend a lot of the festivities.  I was still in Ohio back then. They sent me a picture of themselves in the stadium before the game.

A post on Facebook https://www.outkick.com/washington-michigan-national-title-game-ticket-prices/?fbclid=IwAR3WEHk25E2QsIpbnmKF3wALt2S6636jGwkQv0_H_GZJcFAiPCOLqzUL7KE

Ticket prices are plummeting for the Michigan/Washington national title game, and there's one VERY simple explanation.

Yes, this exact same thing happened two years ago when nearby neighbors Michigan and Cincinnati were being routed in the semis.  Tickets dropped starting at halftime of Orange Bowl.

Get in the door was well below $1k, I just wasn't going to sit in bleeders for a cfp game in my backyard.   I didn't need hotel or transportation.

I treated it like going to the Derby down in Louisville.  It's not a cheap experience but at least I'm not flying and taking time off for it.
