I'm thankful to anyone who served, and especially those who paid the ultimate price.

My son was a sniper in the Marine. Two deployments to Shitstan. He is normal, but knees are a problem, and hearing. No PTSD, thankfully.

As for shelling out for an MNC game, I'll never have to worry about it. Ever.

I went in 2003 with my brother and dad, but my mom paid for it as a birthday present for him, not sure what it cost. We got a package and stayed in Phoenix. I also went to the Sugar Bowl when OSU played LSU in '08. I don't recall that being very expensive, but I think we had some connection on that one. Haven't been to anything since the playoffs started, have to think two fan bases in their first championship game in forever will drive up the price.

Thanks for your part too, the part of a parent with a deployed kid.

Parents of deployed kids go through a lot of worry and fear that goes unappreciated. My poor mother worried herself sick while I was deployed. Even 10 years later she said she wasn't over it. And that was AFTER two more of her sons had their own deployments. Her second born son did a deployment with the Marines to Middle East. Her fourth born did Afghanistan as an Army infantryman with the Arizona National Guard and saw a lot more action than both of his older brothers.

My Dad, though, didn't worry much at all. Proudly stated "war will make a men out of my boys."

like everything else in this god damn country- corporate money has ruined basically every big sporting event and has made it nearly impossible for the regular Joe to attend.

Super Bowl tickets in the early 80s used to be like $50 a pop I want to say. Good luck finding a nose bleed now for anything under $2k.

Only way you can go to these things now a days is if you’ve got the extra cheese to just blow or if you’ve got a plug.

We could afford to go, but why?

As nwms stated above, we've got a 50" on my lanai and a 75" inside. Plus a 37" that I move around. No lines for food or bathrooms.

Tuscany or Sicily over a CFB game, any time.

Agree 100%. Rather spend that kind of money going to visit another country than going to a football game for 3 hours.

For the 2005 season (2006 Rose Bowl) I sent my parents to Pasadena using my Rose Bowl tickets.  They were face value thought UT's ticket allotment, probably around $150 or something?

For the 2009 season (2010 CFP championship game) I didn't have enough donation clout to swing any tickets and I imagine the secondary market was pretty rough.

I paid just over $1000 for this seat for UGA v Bama in Indy.  Of course that's 14 miles from my home.  Bought on stubhub three days after semi finals.

I paid $125 for the Rose Bowl bcs title game 20+ years earlier.

$65 for N v Fla at the Fiesta
About the same for N v FSU in '94 OB

like everything else in this god damn country- corporate money has ruined basically everything big sporting event and has made it nearly impossible for the regular Joe to earn a living attend.
Fixed it.
