Eh, isn't Oktoberfest usually the second half of September?  So I think you are fine.  Although I think the beer goes better with October midwest weather.

yup, they put it out too early while it's still warm

I don't think about it and the shelves are empty in October when it cools off.

I need to set an alarm!

I picked up a couple different six packs of them two weeks ago.  Haven't cracked any of them yet though.  This weekend looks promising

Get Great Lakes Oktoberfest if you can ELA,I've had Troegs Fest Lager that was decent.Fearless might be out of your reach.But I'm sure Hawkeyes have some fine suds out there

Great Lakes is always a go to.  Penn Brewery here in Pittsburgh I don't like overall, but I do like their Oktoberfest.

Utee and I have talked about this before (probably the beer thread).   The beer has to get on the trucks, in one run and the time is September (sometimes it is even August).  We've all seen Octoberfest six packs hanging on the shelf collecting dust in December.   Stuff has to move.   And yes, Octoberfest really starts in mid late Sept, runs into first weekend of Oct.

Its like champagne and sparking wine or sparkling n/a sales, an obscene % happen b/t late Nov and 12/31.
