Some good stuff Tuesday night.

Ohio reached 9-3 by topping BG with a MAC East title on the line. Just remarkable how fast that Bobcats program has bounced back from the Solich departure.
was Frankie replaced by an assistant that was on his staff?
or did they go out and make a splash hire?

Can you make a splash hire in the MAC?

Watching Florida/Florida State.

First, given my age it is weird to watch these two with one unranked and the other #16.

Second, these announcers are awful. Florida picked up a 3rd and long but it got called back due to a holding call against a Florida OL. It was a good call but an irrelevant hold because it was behind the play.

A couple plays later FSU stopped UF on a 4th and REALLY long but UF got the first down on a PO call. The PI was completely legit but the announcers were apoplectic. The one guy repeatedly said to let them play.

Ok, if we are going to let them play then don't call the holding or the PI. There are rules and both calls were legit.

I loved it when UT-A&M had Thanksgiving night to itself.  Sadly those days are long past.

Maybe so.  I suspect that ship has sailed, though.

The main thing keeping it on T-day proper all of those years, was the inertia of the tradition.  Once that was gone, I think it' hard to go back.  I mean, having a game on actual Thanksgiving Day is a huge pain in the ass in many ways.  We just accepted it for all those years, because we valued the tradition.

yup, I'm not sure about getting recruits to the stadium on that evening, but the national TV audience with great ratings is always good for recruiting and promoting the product

As you'll probably recall, it was on T+1 for most of the early years of the B12, alternating the early/late timeslot with Nebraska-Colorado.  The fans clamored to move it back to T-day night, and so we brought it back for a few years right before the ags left, but it wasn't the same.  From a personal perspective, it made me realize just how difficult it was to navigate the entire day, trying to balance family time, with the game itself.  Especially since we still ran at least a stripped-down version of the tailgate party for that game.  And it was even more difficult when the game was in College Station, having to leave lunch early and traveling the 2 hours to reach Kyle Field.  When I was a student and recent graduate, I didn't care as much about missing out on the family time.  But now that I'm older, it matters more to me.

Anyway, I'd figure it out if they ever decided to move it back, but it does present its own unique challenges.

of course some of that is the product on the field, but......
