A somewhat healthier MSU looked better on defense last week, but against UM's OL I don't think it will matter

I honestly hate Michigan State and whoever decided to let them into the Big Ten. It's hurt Michigan greatly over the years having a 2nd in-state school

The Wolverines are playing host to the Spartans, and are seeking to remain perfect in 2022. The Spartans have won 2-straight in the series, giving the Wolverines their only regular-season loss in 2021.

Michigan is planning a special show for the matchup. For the previous 5 seasons or so, the song ‘Mr. Brightside’ by The Killers has been played inside The Big House, usually near the end of the 3rd quarter.

In the Week 9 tilt with Michigan State, expect more of the same, but with a twist. According to Alejandro Zuniga of 247 Sports, Michigan is preparing to unveil a light show to go with the song during the 2nd half.

Michigan is a 23 point favorite according to draftkings. Wouldn't touch that- this could be much closer than that. But at the same time this will be a night game at home....and if these players don't take this personal and feel like they owe Sparty an ass whopping and bring their A+ game- I'll be kinda disappointed. FK I'm not even a player and I wanna kick those guys asses soooooo bad. Hopefully they take this one personal and want to bully and humiliate them.

I honestly hate Michigan State and whoever decided to let them into the Big Ten. It's hurt Michigan greatly over the years having a 2nd in-state school in the B1G. Those aholes in Columbus don't have a pesky just won't go away in-state rival to deal with for in-state talent and Ohio produces double or even triple the amount of HS football talent that the state of Michigan does. It's bullshit. Ohio St brass actively tried to keep Ohio and Cincinnati down and out of the B1G for years. Michigan should've threatened to leave the conference and implode it back in the day and went independent to stop it from ever happening. Michigan would be a better program if they were able to get whoever they wanted in-state and didn't have to lose those players to Sparty. Still salty about it. Ohio can afford another program- it produces enough FBS level football players. Michigan can't- the state produces very little in comparison to Ohio. I say we make Cincinnati join the B1G and start taking players away from Ohio State. See how much they like it.

Your Ohio thing sorta contradicts itself.

If Ohio recruiting is so great, then how could there possibly not be a Michigan State/Pitt caliber program emerging from its midst, over the years? These other Ohio teams are among the absolute dregs of college football, and they are doing it with mostly Ohio recruits (probably). Ohio CFB outside of OSU has just been embarrassingly abysmal, historically. Ohio produces enough top end talent to give OSU a pretty formidable base roster upon which to build, and that's about it.

You may have stumbled across a reason Notre Dame doesn't want anything to do with the Big Ten though. If having a conference foe in your state is that big of a pain in the ass, then why would they sign up to have two?

Michigan is favored at home by 21.5 points.  That may be a bit much even if there is no chance Michigan overlooks Sparty or takes their foot off the gas at any point.  State will bring it all and it'll be a violent nasty football game, as usual, where the unexpected and goofy shit frequently happens.

Another reason why they might not cover- Harbaugh doesn't care about stats or style points. He's not going to leave his starters in late if he's up by 30 points in the 4th QTR (*cough* Ryan Day *cough*) and then keep them in to get up more (*cough* Ryan Day *cough*). He's also just going to play prevent defense and quit attacking and drop 8 into deep zones and give up easy cheap stuff under neath and let the other team pile up garbage time yards and points. That's his MO. He takes his foot off the gas pedal.

I thought every team put the twos in up 30 in the 4th.  It's good football sense.  Maybe it's up 35?

Yeah most do. And I agree with that. I was referring to Day keeping the 1’s in up 30 on Iowa in the 4th and letting CJ throw touchdown bombs just to pad stats for the hypesman trophy and make the win look more secksi for the idiot pollsters on a battered and broken Iowa D that had fought its ass off for 3 QTRs only for its woefully inept offense to keep gifting OSU points and field position and keeping the D on the field all game long to gas out.

Iowa was down 30 in the 4th, which let’s face it with their offense might as well be like being down 100. Day kept the 1’s in and let CJ throw a 79 yard TD bomb to go up 37 and then kept him in up 37 to try to get up 44 with just mins left in the game. The douche bag is strong with that one 😂

this is a big recruiting weekend for Michigan, 2024 5* QB Jadyn Davis of North Carolina will be in Ann Arbor for the game for what seems like only his 57th trip to Ann Arbor. Michigan needs him desperately after missing out on a pair of in-state 5* QB's- 2023 Dante Moore who has committed to Oregon and 2024 CJ Carr (grandson of Lloyd Carr) who has committed to Notre Dame. Moore seems to have continually climbed up the 2023 recruit rankings, and Davis seems to be climbing up the 2024 rankings whereas CJ Carr seems to be sliding in them- apparently Carr has had a pretty bad junior year so far. Which is a bit concerning because he doesn't exactly play tough HS competition.

Jeem desperately needs a W over Sparty and he desperately needs the 5* QB Davis to pull the trigger and commit and start building the 2024 class and get some 'crootin momentum.
