Not great, but much improved.  This one obviously could have gone either way.

Why doesn't everyone just play that 4th and long defense? lol

Stanford won @Syracuse
Noting screams Atlantic Coast Conference like a team from Palo Alto CA.

Heart breaking home night loss for the Huskers.  2nd year, lose close is what they say, right?

I stayed up through Stanford, couldn't hang for Nebraska. Sorry Huskers. The Berts looked more spry on offense than I expected.

About to hit the gym with the wife and then the store. Not sure what is on tap. Empanadas were mentioned in the recipe thread and the wife mentioned making those. But they are kind of work intensive, not exactly what I'm going for while trying to watch football all day.

On other news, still hot and dry in Columbus. High of 90 today again. Blech. Need my crispy fall weather.

Like the 'Skers and Illini but forgot it was on and nodded off anyway.According to CBS the Illini beat the Cornhuskers in Lincoln a third straight time and spoiled the celebration of their 400th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium. Nebraska (3-1, 0-1) has dropped 25 straight games to Top 25 teams since 2016 and is now 8-31 in one-possession games since 2018.

Still it seems things could be on the mend in Lincoln and Raiola had a good game evidently the O-Line missed some blocks for him. And the Illini are 4-0 with wins over 2 ranked teams - Kansas being the other. This could be a real interesting season in the Old BIG....and Michigan still sux

The next three days here are forecast to top 90°F, but it won't be bad, and that should be "it".  My wife is still asleep, we had a 26 hour trip yesterday and she said she was "out" when we got home.  I awoke at 4:30 AM and couldn't go back to sleep but my eyes are shot.

We have almost nothing in the fridge.

Not great, but much improved.  This one obviously could have gone either way.

TOTAL OFFENSE ..... 66-381    68-345
PENALIZED-YDS ....... 3-20      9-89
POSSESSION TIME .... 29:39    30:21
THIRD-DOWN CONV. .... 7-13      8-15
________________________________

pretty evenly matched
Penalties obviously hurt the Huskers
Could be that both teams are somewhere around the #20-25 ranking and will be at the end of the season

I think an issue with both UI and UNL is they will lose some close ones and end up like 8-4ish with a pretty decent team, but having lost to other pretty decent teams often as not.  In some years, they will lose ALL their close ones and end up looking bad.
