The text msgs he sent the columnist during the season were quite revealing.  This does not seem to be a whim, or something else at all.  He knew gd well what he was going to do.

The whole losing 25 pounds during the season tells me there could be a non-football reason for stepping down.

I almost want to feel bad for the guy, but knowing how many lies he told (and got caught in) while he was coaching UW, I really can't.

This is what I was getting at when I said more stuff was coming out. Now it's all over the internet so here is a text from Andersen to an Oregon reporter:


Andersen (Sept. 20): “I hired the wrong (expletive) guys and are still working our way through a bunch of recruiting years that stunk!! It’s year three! If these (expletives) can’t get it right I will not just say fire them and start over!! That’s not the way to go about it. If I (expletive) it up that bad I will take the bullet and ride off into the sunset! I will stay old school!! I will not die doing this (expletive)!! Stay tuned!”

Pretty sure, yeah. Doesn't really matter but he's definitely not LDS.

He needs to start drinking for sure though.

I wouldn't necessarily attribute this to a major health problem, though. Stress can induce this. When I was getting divorced (which I was relieved/happy to be doing), it was still so stressful that I lost about 17 pounds in <6 weeks.
If he's been stewing over this for the last couple of months, on top of all the normal stress of being a CFB coach, I could see that happening.
