Kudos to our host

So, I ordered this from. Our host @Drew4UTk for my wife for Valentines Day.

He turned it around quickly, it looks great, and my wife loves it.

So what I am saying is: Support our host.

thanks hugely!  I can't see the image for some reason, but as it happens i don't have to see it... i saw it before! heheheheee

i'm a week or so out from introducing a new product... it will have a 'face' which will be something like what you purchased, or a carved flag (which i've made/sold to several here and to guys in the A51 crew) or anything else (including a clock)- instead of a keyhole backing on the back to hang on the wall, it'll have hinges and attachment to a box...

the box will fit between wall studs, which makes it 14.5" wide outside dimensions and around 13.5" inside dimensions... the height will be either 12" or 24" (somewhere thereabout) depending on model selected... it's basically like a medicine cabinet as it insets into the wall- the difference is it won't look like a medicine cabinet- it'll look like decoration.... there are no handles outside and the hinges are hidden.. it will have an RFID latch to spring it open.  the intent is to hide and/or secure handguns from children or thieves while still making it easy to get to- the RFID chip will be in a keyfob, a credit card sized thingy, or a silicone ring (the kind guys wear for safety instead of a wedding ring)...

again, thank you!

Oh I would like that. I'm wondering if I could retrofit the RFID into my wedding ring?

Up until recently I always had at least one pistol just available near where I slept but now that I have kids they are all locked away.

There are newer rfid and nfc chips available no bigger than Washington's nose on a quarter.... tiny little things.. they can be adhered to almost anything.

Nfc, the newer generation, is actually better than the rfid as the chip doesn't energize except within inches of the source, and don't broadcast over distances of up to 100feet from sources like many rfid's do... with older gen a source can be set up and record the code off the rfid as people pass... nfc range is usually much shorter.

Issue with using nfc is they are more expensive and the reason to want them, the lack of range, also makes them harder to use through mediums like the wood I'd use even though the freq they use is higher.

A phone can trigger nfc, as well as Bluetooth which means you could gain access via your phone or a button strategically placed.

Not likely, #3 is currently in the oven and scheduled for arrival in about six weeks.

Thank you!

My wife and I are getting accustomed to the unsettling reality that we are soon to be outnumbered.  For now we can take care of the kids on a one-each basis but we are going to have to develop a zone defense.

1 kid - man to man, swap d is ideal.
2 kids - man to man still predominant, zone sprinkled in for surprise
3 kids - zone primary, but a zone-man under still doable
4 kids - zone predominant, any attempt at man to man leaves zone overloaded
5+ kids - time to pay the zebras cause you ain't winning without help

you can interpret that last bit as getting farm animals or counseling. i suggest both.

LOL...

I'll add one thing... As the ages increase, you can turn a divide-and-conquer approach. Pick the most compliant kid and turn them so they become an informer on the others... Just watch out; they might be double agents.

almost put something like that. something like 8+ and some will be old enough to enter transfer portal and help out on d. but i don't have personal experience with that.
