That was petty James Franklin.

he was trying to run out the clock after the onside kick, took out his starters, and WVU kept calling time outs. I could see the steam coming out of his ears. Lol

i knew at that point he was going for a TD
I’m ok with it actually. This is big time football.  Good luck to your guys.

I think you guys have a chance to win the 12, gotta tighten up that play calling though.

People forget- this his first real game experience.

You were never impressed with him?  When did you have a chance to be impressed?

Just look at your QB.  He is just now getting good with his throwing.  All he could do was arm punt or run.  Now he can throw. Took a while.

if it still looks like this after game 3- maybe you can come here and needle me.
I’m glad you brought up jj because that was going to be part of my point. It’s not that McCord doesn’t have the chance to be consistent and solid and lead the team to great accomplishments. That being said, he has a lower ceiling than previous qbs at osu from my early guesses. Again, that could be wrong, but watching JJ early on, you could see he was early in his career with little experience, but he also had moments that were wow factors and you could see the ceiling being high.

on the flip side, there was Cade McNamara. His talent ceiling wasn’t as high, but he was efficient, made incredibly wise decisions and his coaching staff put risk thresholds into the game plan and it worked.

I didn’t dislike Cade, but I never thought his talent level was enough to win it all. Now McCord has far better talent to throw to, but I just don’t see the it factor or flashes that make me believe he’ll carry a talented team to a title. Quite honestly, I like that because I’ve been worn out seeing it in Scarlett and gray uniform at qb for a long time. Again, it’s one game and his first so it could change, I just watched JJ and then saw McCord and it looked like night and day different ceilings.

We aren’t that good, but we can get to a bowl and won’t be the worst team in the Big 12 like we were picked. Not that avoiding last should be the goal but you get the point.  Morgantown will be a nice test for you guys next year.  Good to see you posting again.

Well I agree with you about “ night and day” difference.

Comparing JJ, who has more than a full season of starting experience ( including tough road games, Big Title games and 2 CFP games), and playing behind what is definitely one of the best offensive lines in all of CFB- to a kid that never played in a road game, never got first team reps, is splitting this years first team reps with another QB, and is playing behind a completely reworked, inexperienced offensive line, doesn’t seem like a realistic comparison.  Hell, we don’t even know yet if McCord will end up being the starter for the season.

Haha. That’s a very fair group of points.

Ended up at a bar with my friends watching games.

Wisconsin, to me, was underwhelming. QB Tanner Mordecai is NOT the answer. The guy just can't see the field and gifted Buffalo 7 points (D bailed him out on the other one)
