They should be an option team.  WVU’s QB is slippery!

Allar got away with a few and should have a couple picks, but in all he had a heckuva debut hard not to like what he brings to the table. Big dude but not a statue and has a live arm.

Their coach needs to just keep running the ball and stop being cute … WVU is a better team then. The 7 points they have so far

Well he should have two picks, but only has one bad throw really. The other was a batted ball

McCord has been pretty accurate.  Just made one bad decision- that is standard for a new QB.

I really think he’s their weakest link. Sure the stat line looks ok, but take away the long reception from Stover and it’s pretty ordinary. He missed a lot of throws down field and so much of the passing game was very short passes.

when you have the talent level at receiver that the buckeyes have and passing game is this ordinary, its either the o-line or the qb and I’m not sure who it fell on, but I’ve never been impressed by McCord. Osu has had some special qbs over the last decade and I think OSU fans are finally going to have to settle for mediocre qb play.

did Ryan Day screw up picking McCord over JJ in ‘21 and then not going all-in on Allar in ‘22? Probably.

Weird stat of the day-

every PSU starting QB under Franklin has played in the NFL.

Bert needs a late FG to win.

You may be correct, but it is far too early to make that determination.

I think Coach day just wanted to get him comfortable playing today.  As I predicted before the game, it would be bumpy because- even though the offensive line did a great job in pass protection, they did not help out at all on run blocking.  And Day- for reasons I think I understand- called an extremely conservative game- especially the run game.  He repeatedly ran into the boundary or into the teeth of a run blitz.  And- as everyone knew-Indiana was all in on stopping the run.

McCord threw some beautiful balls and several were dropped.  His best throw- TD to Harrison- didn’t even count.  McCord does tend to lock on first read- but what new Qb doesn’t?

People forget- this his first real game experience.

You were never impressed with him?  When did you have a chance to be impressed?

Just look at your QB.  He is just now getting good with his throwing.  All he could do was arm punt or run.  Now he can throw. Took a while.

if it still looks like this after game 3- maybe you can come here and needle me.

JJ wouldn’t have seen the field at OHio State until this year.  And if you’re comparing JJ when he first started seeing playing time- I would just remind how much YOU USED to BITCH about his lack of touch and accuracy.  And you were right.

That was petty James Franklin.

he was trying to run out the clock after the onside kick, took out his starters, and WVU kept calling time outs. I could see the steam coming out of his ears. Lol

i knew at that point he was going for a TD
