Buckeyes open as 30 point favorites against the pathetic WolverHarbaugh's. Easy money. They will win this game by 50 plus. That's not hyperbole.

McNamara was allegedly shut down for the season after the shoulder injury he played through vs PSU was more serious than they initially thought.

Joe Milton now mysteriously is injured and will be missing the game. LOL. My guess is either Harbaugh is covering his own ass and doesn't want to get even more embarrassed on the biggest stage of the season for hand-picking the poor kid, or Milton has already put in his transfer portal papers, and that's why he's not available. Injured my ass.

Michigan will be starting a 2* true frosh QB named Dan Vilari who had literally no other FBS offers. Forget P5. He had no other FBS offers.

The beat down will be of epic proportions.

Not sure I am buying the rumors about McNamara or Milton.  My guess is one of them plays.
I look at it like this: Michigan can only exceed expectations because number one, most expect them to cancel so if they show up to play they have already exceeded expectations and are showing some balls. Number two they’re huge underdogs and if they just show up and play hard and don’t get beat by 40 points they will have also exceeded expectations. If they somehow managed to get a few turnovers and make a few big plays and keep the game close they will have blown expectations out of the water. Nothing worse than a team playing With everything to gain and nothing to lose. Gamble gamble gamble. Blitz on every play throw the ball deep all day long. Should be fun to watch because I never see this game turning out the way it supposed to.

I love this rivalry game and it's sad what it has become.  I can relate.

I for one am looking forward to it and hope it is played!  I don't mean that as tounge-in-cheek as it may seem.  My team could lose, stranger upsets have happened in this series so, in a way I feel like Michigan has a better situation because for them and their fans it is an "everything to gain, nothing to lose" situation.  As ~30 point underdogs they really can't underachieve relative to expectations whereas Ohio State most certainly can.

I'm not really buying the QB situation. Either McNamara or Milton plays, possibly both.

...and if not, they could always roll out Yost's 1903 "point a minute" offense.

McNamara is out. He is seriously injured. His throwing shoulder is f’d up. He shouldn’t have continued playing in the Penn State game after he got blown up and landed on his shoulder. All he did was hurt it more.

What I do not buy for a god damn second is Milton being “hurt”. He hasn’t played in weeks and they’ve barely been practicing and in practice they don’t touch the QB.

My guess is Harbaugh just doesn’t want to get exposed for being the idiot he is if he starts Milton and Milton plays like the hot garbage he is and they get destroyed.  Jim hand picked this kid to be the next messiah. Jim and Pep Hamilton have been talking up anyone who would listen for years that Milton could be a #1 overall NFL Draft pick. LOL.

I get where you are coming from but let me play devil's advocate for a minute:
Even if McNamara was available, he is what he is.  He isn't terrible (like Milton frequently can be) but he also doesn't have Milton's higher ceiling.  If the Wolverines played the Buckeyes with McNamara under center then instead of a 30 point dog they'd maybe be a 20 point dog, still with very little chance of winning.

Why not roll the dice with Milton?  Worst case scenario is that he plays like, as you said, "hot garbage" and Michigan gets destroyed.  Ok, so what?  Everybody expects Michigan to get destroyed anyway so they simply meet expectations, get blown out by a CFP contender and move on to next year.  OTOH, if Milton were to have that once-in-a-lifetime, out-of-his-mind game and actually play to his ceiling . . .  Michigan might pull off the upset.

I don't see the downside for Michigan to taking that gamble.

I share your skepticism of the Milton injury, but not the reasoning. Rather than trying to save face, and assuming that the transfer rumors are true, then I suspect that Harbaugh is invoking the "Michigan will be led by a Michigan Man" mantra.

McNamara can be a pretty good QB within a functional offensive system. I think the kid can play.

He might not have Milton’s imposing size, athleticism, 4.6 speed, or Milton’s cannon for an arm- but none of that is what playing QB is about. Milton has all of the measurables in the world- but none of the stuff you can’t measure. He doesn’t have the feel for the position or the instinct for it. You can’t teach it, you can’t coach it. The good QBs just have it.

Sounds like Milton is good to go, albeit with a nagging thumb issue, if the game happens.
