This feels like a sort of hideous ends and means problem. Though TBH, the ends are not terribly valuable.

On one hand, it would be more fun and better. 

On the other, the very intentionally severed four rather important rivalries (well, really two, and a couple others that just should be played) and it would create some major headaches to be like "just kidding, we snapped Clemson-South Carolina and FSU-Floirda, but A&M get get in that top-10 matchup."
