Mizzou stupidly lets players go home for Christmas and guess what?  20 players came back with COVID.

What's even worse is Iowa did the right thing and made their players isolate during the holidays, instead of going home. Now these players missed this time with their families for nothing.

Sadly, this isn't the first time Mizzou has found a way to back out of a game against Iowa.

so, this could be an example of players being safer playing football than going home?

sure but at what expense?  being isolated outside of practice is no way to live.
weird year and it does show that if a school or team decided not to participate in a bowl game and allowed their players the time with family, they should be applauded  opposed to Missouri who screwed their opponent (Iowa).

I agree with you

was just stating an example from discussions before the season started regarding player safety

There's no question why some in the B1G didn't want Mizzou as a member years ago.

I'd still vote to include Missouri in the league. Every league needs a bad guy, and Rutgers just isn't good enough to be a legit villain.

Texas or Notre Dame play a much better villain than Mizzou

Mizzou-as-villain is new to me.

All I ever have had against them is that they always seemed to have high, heavily-watered grass at Faurot Field.

They got badly screwed a couple of times by official malfeasance back in Big 8 days.

Now they're just another escapee from the bad old Big 12 days.  Like the Huskers, the Aggies, and the Buffs.

Miss Mizzou did sort of hike her skirt up and give Mr. Big Ten a glimpse of thigh.  To no avail, of course.

The fact that a Music City Bowl, or a Mayonnaise Bowl, or whatever non CFP bowl you can think of, was scheduled was stupid.  Is the NFL planning some random preseason games for January?  With opt outs obviously

And this is why CFB is going to crap. The playoff BS has ruined everything. A bowl game used to be a reward for the kids, coaches and the fan who support them. Now, it's just another game. That is a crying shame.

Yes, me too

I would take Mizzou over Rutgers today and would have taken them back in 2010 too.

Iowa needs another trophy game.  Bring on the Honey War Trophy.

I don't see Texas ever coming to the BIG. They would have to give up too much money and no way they equally share the income from the Longhorn network. I think that would be the driving factor for ND as well.

agreed, Texas would only join if the Big 12 fell apart and they decided against going independent.

It's always about the money

Mizzou is a better fit in either division of the Big Ten than in the SEC East.
