They've played exactly 1 team with an actual pulse and lost 31-0.

Winning that game in Madison was not easy. UW had a pulse for sure. The UW QB went down and that was that.

Yes, and that's why Iowa is behind PSU in all the polls.

And Iowa is 9-1 against everybody else,  including beating 4 teams going to a bowl so far.

Add it all up, Iowa is not a top 15 team,  but is worthy of the top 25.

Well look at this way.

If Iowa traded places with Indiana and played in the East. Iowa would probably have a record of 7-4.  But that takes badly balanced divisions and makes them even worse.

So let's say they trade Iowa and Michigan and Iowa plays in the east and Michigan in the West.  Iowa would probably have a record of 8-3 (5-3) and would finish 3rd in the east

Since Iowa is going to the CCG,  Iowa will end up losing 3 games.  One way or another,  Iowa is a 3-loss team, with 2 of the losses to top-12 teams.

The only problem is that we've SEEN them play.

Nebraska will have edge in motivation that is true.  Iowa has the Big Ten West clinched, so what does Iowa play for?

On the other hand, Nebraska has lost 3 games in a row,  struggled on offense and can be a turnover machine.  Will they even be able to score  on Phil Parker's defense?  Iowa's offense usually can squeak out one TD a game and that might be enough for Iowa to win.

Agree the game will be close,  but some teams like Iowa just find a way to win in the 4Q and some teams like Nebraska just find a way to lose
You should play the lotto tonight.

Backup (and terrible) QB, missing one of the best players in the country.

That defense is really good, along with special teams. The rest is not so much good.

We'll see how good that defense is in Indy.

It can only do so much given the offense. You put any semblance of an offense on that field with the Iowa defense, and... look out.

This.
I am growing tired of the phrase "complementary football." Iowa does a lot of things well to keep themselves in the game. But, complementary football would involve a more consistent offense.

Sigh...  If only the lotto was as predictable as Iowa and Nebraska in the 4Q.

The only thing unpredictable was Iowa's normally reliable FG kicker having an awful day,  getting 2 FG's blocked and kicking 2 kickoffs out of bounds.  He was so awful he got yanked on Iowa's game winning FG for the backup kicker.

Keep in mind, Iowa's starting FG kicker just recently nailed a 53 yard game winner against NW 3 weeks ago.  He has been clutch his whole career.  It's just weird what happened today.

I know all too well.  We had Muschamp as HC, remember?
