Odds for Nebraska football's final regular season game of the year against Iowa have now shifted.

The matchup between the Huskers (5-6, 3-5 Big Ten) and Hawkeyes (9-2, 6-2) in their Black Friday rivalry game at Memorial Stadium (11 a.m. CT kickoff on CBS) opened with Iowa being favored at -1, but the line has shifted to Nebraska favored at -1.5 as of Monday afternoon, per BetMGM. The point total is 26.5 as of Monday.

After being shown exclusively on NBC streaming-only service Peacock and then being in the NBC spotlight game of the week in primetime, the Huskers' matchup with Iowa will be their first game on CBS in the first year under the Big Ten's new TV deal. Below are some more odds, trends and records ATS for both teams this season.

Nebraska betting trends in 2023
>> Nebraska is 5-6 straight up as the Huskers have lost three games in a row after having won five of their previous seven prior to the losing streak. Nebraska is 4-7 against the spread under Rhule this season.

>> Against the spread, they have gone 3-4 as the underdog and 1-3 as the favorite in their 10 games. Straight up, the Huskers are 2-5 as the underdog and 3-1 as the favorite.

>> The over is 5-6 in Nebraska's games this season (the over has hit five times, the under has hit six times).

>> Nebraska is 4-2 at home straight up and 1-4 on the road this year.

Iowa trends
>> Iowa has been favored in 9 of its previous 11 games this season.

>> Iowa is 9-2 straight up and 5-5-1 against the spread.

>> The over is 2-9 in Iowa's games this season (the over has hit in two of their games, and the under has hit nine times) despite routinely having the lowest point total in college football for most of its games this year.

>> The Hawkeyes are 8-1 as the favorite straight up and 1-1 as an underdog. They are 3-5-1 against the spread as the favorite and 1-1 as the underdog (W: Wisconsin, L: Penn State)

>> Iowa is 6-1 straight up at home and 3-1 straight up on the road this season. The Hawkeyes are 3-3-1 against the spread at home and 2-2 against the spread on the road.

Nebraska is #88 in net punting.  Iowa is #1 in net punting.  That could end being the difference in what will probably be a low-scoring defensive battle.

Iowa has been getting some fortunate bounces in most games not with Minnesota
and the Huskers are playing really well

Iowa 6  Nebbie 4  in Double OT...
Iowa defeated Purdue 4-0 in 1939. A couple months ago one of my friends (in his 80s) introduced me to a lady at a social event who appeared to be about 80 who is a daughter of one of the Iowa football players who played on the 1939 team with Nile Kinnick in that 4-0 win, and he brought up that 4-0 Purdue game in our discussion. I thought I was the only kook who knew about that result in our town of 5,000.

Cincydawg knows, Iowa had the 6-4 game in 2004 at Penn State. These improbable scores have happened in the hx of Iowa football. Twice I think in 1,306 games. The way this team plays defense and the way it doesn't play offense makes it more probable than most seasons, but 6-4, 2-0, 4-0, 4-3 are unlikely even with this team. Maybe Nebraska can score 4, but how is Nebraska going to score 3?
