Kicks off at 3:30 Saturday on the BTN

OSU's first game was characterized by atrocious breakdowns on defense and an offense that never seemed to struggle at any point.  I didn't see any of Rutgers' first game against Texas State, but the defense fared well and gave up less than 200 yards of offense.  Rutgers defense was a competent outfit last year, and they will be a stiffer test than anything Oregon State provided.

Offensively, not sure what Rutgers provides.  They started freshman Arthur Sitkowski, and he played ok but threw three picks.  I doubt he faced the kind of edge rush he'll see against OSU.  Of course, if the linebackers and safeties keep running around in the wrong direction, maybe Rutgers can bust some big plays.

Overall, I think seeing if Haskins can still deal when defenders are getting in the way once in a while will be the most interesting question of this game.

OSU was bipolar.  Great defense- except 7 big plays.  In each case- a newbie being out of position/ often being too aggressive, was the cause.  Mostly at LB (Werner) and DE (Chase young).  
Of course- having two new guys at safety, where the cleanup of those mistakes is performed, did not help. 
I will be interested to see if Fuller is back from injury at Safety, or do the save him for TCU.   Also- how many snaps they give BORland coming back from Achilles.

The Knights were playing pretty well by the end of last season, and are off to a strong start.

Vegas has OSU as a 33 point favorite. Ima gonna go with 55-10 again for predicted score.

Rutgers, while weak by P5 standards, does appear to be improved and I'm guessing will be marginally more challenging than OrSU.  I can see this game being tight for maybe 20 minutes or so, but I fully expect the Bucks to pull away in the 3rd.  I'm thinking something along the lines of 48-17 or something.

Rewatched the OSU-OSU game (btw is there a greater use for Youtube than people editing games down that I can watch while eating lunch?)  

Anyway, was less angry at the defense.  I forgot they were up 42-7 in the second quarter, when the tomfoolery began in earnest.  The linebackers and safeties were big culprits, but a lot of them were making their first starts so I'll stop yelling at them for now.

Also, Haskins rarely threw the ball more than 10 yards down the field.  Sill be interested to see how he looks when they open it up a bit.

I realize we've played nobody of significance to date, but I love how Ryan Day etc are calling the game. So many weapons on offense and they're doing a great job using them. 

Haskins when given time is deadly accurate. But I'm interested to see him when he's pressured. 

Also glad to see both Weber. And Dobbins getting around 30-35 touches per game. I think last years offense could've been so much better if those guys were allowed to touch the ball more. 

Just hope they don't revert to forgetting RBs in big games like previous seasons.
