It's amazing how many people do that. Just keep driving and driving, no matter how many times you get busted. Total disregard for the law.

So, much ado about nothing?

I'm told LJ Scott is legally able to drive - has paperwork, waiting on license. He didn't have the paperwork on him when he was pulled over.

Still, getting pulled over 7 times in 19 months remains concerning, but I doubt he'll be punished beyond whatever massive fines he likely has

I would imagine that's exactly what is going down.  As noted above, these types of cases are such a high volume time suck in our county (and muni) courtrooms.  Again, it doesn't excuse the behavior,  I'm just raising awareness I guess to how commonplace this is in society.

It does bring some memories from days in the DA's office.  I'm serious when I tell you this, if the facts of the case did not involve alcohol, children in the car, property damage or injuries, our standing instructions were to amend/plead these cases down to non-criminal offenses and get them out of the system ASAP.

I'm not sure what the laws are in Michigan.  In Ohio, it can be sort of a racket, as suspensions pile on top of one another and usually the target has little means to extricate themselves out of the situation.

You extricate yourself from the situation by ... no longer driving.
