Trump may or may not have written it. with the way the media operates these days- I'd lean towards he probably did not write it. you want me to believe it- then show me the proof. not seeing any proof right now. but at the end of the day- who fucking cares. it does not change THE FACT that Trump had a very close personal relationship with Epstein for well over a decade.

his late night show absolutely sucked- and was tanking in the ratings for years- and CBS was throwing away good money after bad as ad revenue from their late night shows was tanking. CBS late night shows were pulling in around $439 million in ad revenue in 2018- and that number fell off a cliff to below $220 million in 2024. And the 2025 figures will probably be even lower.

Those late night shows are extremely expensive to produce- hundreds of staff, camera crews, and elaborate studio production sets- not to mention they were probably paying Colbert around $20-30 million a year. It got to the point where it wasn't worth producing, and Colbert was frankly just really bad at the job and a poor fit from the beginning- and the late night show is just a dying medium. Colbert was the first to go- but Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel won't be far behind. The networks are just going to ultimately get out of the late night show business. No one cares- no one watches- the boomers are dying off and are the only ones who watch- the millennials and gen-z don't watch that dog shit- this isn't 1977 where there are 4 TV channels and everyone watches Johnny Carson at night. most people just don't give a shit about network tv's hacky corny dumb ass late night shows.

Which I thought was pretty funny.  Must be a hot topic for investigation.

CBS is a major for profit corporation who is all about one thing, the bottom line. When your ad revenue from a product goes from $439 million a year to under $220 million a year and is trending downwards ever greater- yeah you're probably just gonna cut bait and kill the product. Between what they were paying Colbert every year to paying the salaries of the hundreds of other staff- they were probably breaking even at best or even losing money. And with basically zero potential of growth and it being a decaying dying market- they were always going to just cut bait and some point and shut everything down and get out of that business.
