Not surprising.  Internet people are dumbasses.  Not us of course.

Obviously speaks to my taste in who to follow, but I’ve appreciated the range of folks I’ve seen telling those folks to eat shit.

Same, but the number of main stream folks who tell Chicago kids to eat shit because their parents voted to defund the police, and Texas kids to eat shit because their parents voted to defund the NOAA makes me question whether there is any coming back

Assholes taking pleasure in the pain of others so they can "get over" on the other side, is one of the worst and most insidious aspects of bullshit identity politics.

Fuck every single one of those dipshits-- they ARE the problem.

Elon Musk says he's created his own political party - the 'America Party'
A day after Donald Trump signed into law his sweeping tax cut and spending bill, which Musk had repeatedly attacked, the billionaire Tesla boss says he is forming the 'America Party'.

Elon Musk says he has created a new political party - the America Party - after asking his followers if he should do so in an online poll.

It follows his public falling out with Republican President Donald Trump.

On Friday, the tech billionaire had asked his followers on X whether a new US political party should be created.

On Saturday evening he wrote on the same platform: "By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!

"When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.
"Courage; Generosity; Fairness; Honor; In these are the true awards of manly sport."

I don’t think anyone in the danger path of those floods fully comprehended and understood the level of danger they were in. Some of those places hadn’t flooded since 1987, and I think some had never flooded to that level since it was settled in the 1800’s.

So very tragic.

NOAA was a bloated organization filled with political hacks. Trust me. We're not losing any meaningful data or prediction ability.

We all see this often on social media, it's one of the "interesting" aspects of seeing opinions shared.  Folks can't seem to stay silent or say "That sounds fine.", many feel a need to run a topic down.  I see this around here on local sites, any time something that looks pretty nice locally is posted, folks feel a need to say something akin to "Just another place for thugs to rob, rape, and kill people."  Said sayers generally don't live here at all.

I think we all experienced this in grammar school, by running another student down, some felt they were establishing their own superiority.

As for NOAA cuts, I have not noticed any change in weather predictions or information around here.  But I have seen folks blaming the cuts for causing the deaths in the floods.

There was a lot of redundancy between FEMA, NOAA and the NWS.
