One piece of significant legislation can be obviously more of consequence than 50 pieces renaming Post Offices.

Many of his orders are aimed at eliminating the ones from whoever was running the country the prior 4 years.

Marine fuel is generally 89 or 90 with no corn.

My car takes 91. Only Wawa has that.

All of our cars are designed to run on 87.

Some folks on the truck/towing forums say they get better power while towing if they increase to midgrade or premium.  Others say that's bunk.  As per usual, the internet is full of contradictions.

Some cars/trucks will do a bit better on higher octane (or worse with lower anyway).  And I could see some engines on the verge of knocking in normal conditions that would knock under heavy load.  Even slight knocking is not good.  Maybe an engine knocks when towing up a hill for example.

Oddly enough, higher octane gas will give lower mpgs (if all else is constant) in a car not designed for higher octane.  The branching means fewer C-H bonds.

It's a small effect.

The GTI had higher octane "recommended", and I usually used it, occasionally I would put in midgrade, it seemed fine.  The Hyundai recommends regular which saves some money.

Yeah, no knocking in my truck running 87 under both normal conditions and heavy load, so I've never bothered with trying higher grades.  "They" say you get more power.

I might try it on our next trip just to see, there are some pretty good hills on the way out to Fredericksburg and I'm very familiar with how it tows that route using 87 so I should be able to detect any differences, if there are any.

As a Philly burbs kid, it is great to see the gospel of Wawa spread.

While E85 is typically cheaper per gallon than gasoline it might be more expensive per mile. Since ethanol contains less energy per volume than gasoline, FFVs will generally get 15%-27% fewer miles per gallon when fueled with E85, depending on the car and the driver’s driving habits.
yup, E85 is almost always 30% cheaper than 93 or 91 premium

I believe because I've been told my guys smarter than I, that if the engine isn't made for or tuned for higher octane, you'll see no performace boost by using higher octane

Yeah this is my understanding as well.  Which is why I'm skeptical.  But some of the towing bros swear by it.
