For me, the major problems we face as a country, in my view, get little shrift or serious attention from politicians and partisans.  They prefer to bring up what I view as small issues to debate instead, for obvious reasons.  The major problems don't have partisan solutions, broadly speaking, they really don't have practicable solutions as things stand.  So, we muddle along, screaming at each other about "trivia", in a relative sense.

In my view, this is entirely unwarranted and inappropriate, and also yet another sign you are unable to discuss a topic seriously without resorting to personal attacks and over generalizations because you get frustrated your posts are "misunderstood".

By semantics, you mean, “reality.” There are still people on federal death, and the admin can push for the federal penalties. 

Also, the blood on hands doesn’t really make sense unless you’re being dramatic. The logic that unless the killer isn’t killed, the blood is actually on the hands of the people who don’t kill them? Doesn’t follow. 

It’s sort of funny, I assumed when this place opened up to more politics, I assumed we’d get some nuance and policy talk. Instead when something starts down a policy road, it veers into a ditch of heated rhetoric. I suppose that’s why politics are what they are.
