Yup.

There's a reason Burnt Eyes established his zombie apocalypse compound in Tennessee near lots of fresh water.

Texas obviously has access to seawater as well (despite my former colleague from San Francisco telling me Texas is "land-locked").  But the sheer scale and cost of such endeavors has historically been prohibitive to developing them.  I guess we'll see just how desperate folks are, to avoid those midwest winters!

What's Powell doing, or not doing, that is "playing politics?"  I'll be honest I'm so caught up in the direct impact of the tariffs to my day-to-day job activities, that I haven't had time for much else.

He isn't doing anything. The Fed is an independent entity and should not be subject to political pressures.

Let me rephrase.  What is he doing, or not doing, that has Trump accusing him of playing politics?

But, why is it "playing politics" if he does not?  Simply because it's against Trump's wishes?

OK, anyway, doubt there's really a meaningful answer here regardless.

For better or worse, and its certainly for both.  That is the Trump playbook

That’s probably it.

Low interest rates seem good. The president wants things to seem good. This person is not allowing him to make things seem good and brag on them.

There is not and this is pretty standard President vs Fed stuff.

Presidents ALWAYS want lower interest rates to stimulate the economy and the Fed has to be concerned about inflation.

There are two sides to this and both are realistic arguments:
Trump's argument:
The economy is clearly slowing, why WAIT until we are already in recession THEN try to get out.

Fed's argument:
Inflation is not necessarily under control yet so interest rates need to stay where they are.
