The legislation, House Study Bill 158,

I mean, cool and all, but is there anything on the books about regular shows that are deemed sexual?  Like, don't let regular shows that perform, partially perform, or imitate, etc. good ol' fashioned strip shows.  I feel like that bill is trying to shield minors from stuff they're not ready for, and that includes a lot more than drag.  So I wonder if there's already laws on the books about that, or have they just overlooked "regular" sexual stuff inappropriate for children, in which case, the people claiming to be unfairly targeted may have a point.

I heard that it was mostly undocumented immigrants, who by and large lack some of the more common vaccinations that are spreading to themselves. Everybody else who is vaccinated (IE everybody born after 1970 something) is already immune.
The articles say Texas HHS says it’s concentrated in a Mennonite community. Perhaps they’re undocumented.

I don't believe minors are allowed in any of the "strip joints" I've been to in Iowa
It's obviously legislators creating another law that is not needed because there are plenty of laws on the books.
They want some attention and a pat on the back for doing "something" makes them feel useful, when they're not.

I hit 235 shortly after the pandemic, a few years ago.  That's 75 lbs over my ideal weight. It was a result of a few things including the discovery that my thyroid was just about useless, generating no metabolism at all (hypothyroidism).  So even the "at rest" calories you're supposed to burn, weren't burning.  Upon reflection I think I've had that condition for at least 10 or 12 years.  I wrote it off as just getting old for a while, then I asked my GP what he thought, if it could be something metabolic, and he told me I was just getting old as well.

Finally a couple of years ago I decided I just didn't feel right, the only way I could even maintain weight was by extreme calorie deficits and carb-depleting, which just isn't right.  I forced my GP to refer me to an endocrinologist who did a panel of blood work and figured out my issue pretty quickly.  I also talked to my family about it and it turns out both my mom and sister have battled it for years.

So anyway, I got the metabolism started again but really struggled with exercise at my very high weight.  I asked the endocrinologist if there was something to be done, and he suggested the GLP-1.  I lost about 45 lbs on it, and then was able to exercise a lot more effectively so I ended the Wegovy.  I've still got another 15-20 lbs I'd like to lose but I'm doing it the old fashioned way.

WTF.

I hate being like this because I know firsthand that people who criticize medical providers frequently don't know what they're talking about, and my GP-wife is always telling me how complicated things are that people don't understand.  But I did work at her clinic for some years and learned a few things.  Just to be safe, I just ran this scenario by her to get her take.

I have no idea what your GP was doing.  He/she certainly wasn't doing routine lab work like he/she should've been.  Hypothyroidism is usually caught by primary providers, before Endo ever gets involved.  Especially with the symptoms you were having.  But even without symptoms, a thyroid panel is usually done for annual checkups.  With your symptoms, that should've been Move #1 if for no other reason than to rule it out.

this entire measles thing is a complete nothing burger pushed by idiots and assholes in legacy corporate media to scare the US population to death into compliance. thankfully it is not working. after COVID- not sure anything ever will again. between Iraq & WMD's, the 2008-2009 financial crash, RussiaGate, and COVID- the legacy mainstream corporate media is pretty much fucking cooked. they are basically dead and insignificant and becoming obsolete by the second. hardly anyone watches or reads them anymore- they are all tanking and losing viewership/readership/subscribers by the minute- and really they have only themselves to blame as they have been proven to be nothing but liars and propagandists- which is why no one trusts in what they have to say anymore. they are meaningless- and effective at only swaying/controlling the very elderly who are about to die out soon anyway and don't really matter all that much to the future direction of this country.

btw measles killed roughly 300-400 people a year in the US before the invention of the measles vaccinations- and that was with a population of around 190 million people...aka folks....it ain't that serious.

below are snippets of probably the greatest exchange I've ever seen from shitty cable news- Calley Means on CNN murdering Big Pharma schill and compromised criminal Paul Offit live on air....

^^^  How'd that comment get "Apolitical thread" in the header?

Did that get moved by a mod?

Did Mdot post politically in the apolitical thread?

If so, I'm shocked.

I moved it. Originally Fearless posted the thing about measles in the apolitical thread, and I had a feeling that it would be very difficult to survive over there without getting political.

It was moved before Mdot replied, so no, he didn't post politically in the apolitical thread.

Drew and Badger have both made me a mod before.

I rebelled, cuz they can't turn me into The Man.

Just as well.  They'd have had to ultimately take me down due to corruption.  For a few good pics per day in the Hotties thread, I'd let about anything slide.

My annual panel included all the standard stuff like cholesterol, glucose, etc. but it never included direct testing of the thyroid.  I've since dumped that GP and am looking for another one, but at this point I'm basically just using the endo as my GP, he's an awesome doc and is willing to do it, although I have to book him about 6 months out.  But his PA is really great too and she gets back to me within hours, if not minutes.

I hope that is the way it will proceed - the public or education should never have their feet put to the flame by the oozing boils that bred contempt for everything good and decent and damn near wreck a country. It's just that the unhinged halfwits in their seclusion still are given a platform to carnival bark and caterwaul with no credible editing to revise or amend the rubbish they're publishing. I remember growing up when the newspapers had to title articles expressed as opinion as such
"Let us endeavor so to live - that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry." - Mark Twain
