I will note that for USAID, not every mission it funds is blacks ops or teaching questionable progressive art to Afghan women. My cousin works (worked) for a non-profit that among other things, works to bring clean water and uncontaminated food to impoverished communities in Africa. She was the managing business director, and personally administered their budget. None of it was spent superfluously, it was all used as wisely as possible. To those concerned about China building roads and whatnot, the USA has been countering China's endeavors to exert soft power, with our own, and my cousin was just furloughed as a result of the recent actions of the current administration.
It's tough to watch us throw out the baby with the bathwater, but I do agree there's a lot that needs to change. Hopefully we can eventually get the pendulum to swing back a bit and exert some common sense.
