Happened near here today. Got a “ blue alert “ on my phone. RIP to the officer.

Friend of mine is a state trooper, got shot a few years ago. He’s a war veteran, with combat in Iraq.  I asked him about it, he told me he shot the suspect dead plus a little extra.

Last weekend we went through the process of reconfiguring the garage to try to make a more effective use of space. Part of the goal was that I haven't brewed in a LONG while (i.e. years) b/c the combo fridge/freezer I use for fermentation requires an external temp controller to maintain fermentation temps, and when used the freezer doesn't, well, freeze anything. But with having frozen foods ready/available for kids, and a lot of vacuum sealed meat, all of our freezer space was pretty full. So having a freezer to offload some of that was necessary if I wanted to start brewing again. 

So with the reconfiguration I ended up buying a small (11 cf) upright freezer from Costco this morning, and now we have reached the status of having 6(!) refrigerators and/or freezers in this house... 

But with this, now hopefully I can restart brewing next weekend. I think there's going to be a LOT of cleaning of brewing equipment, draft lines in the kegerator, and a whole lot of other stuff in my near future.

I have 5.  Main fridge/freezer in the kitchen.  2 beer fridges in the garage.  1 chest freezer in the garage.  1 small fridge in the outdoor kitchen.

That doesn't count, of course, the 2 fridges in the RV.

My i s c & a aggie wife stole one of them and she puts extra food and drinks in it now.  I'm not happy about it, but I still have one full garage fridge all to myself.  And the white wine and champagne go in HER fridge, not mine.

I'm a homebrewer. I have ALL sorts of issues. Massive number of fridges/freezers is common amongst us, though...

My fridges/freezers:

  • Main fridge (kitchen). Self explanatory.
  • Kegerator (kitchen). Sadly a problem because it hasn't had kegs of homebrew in it for a long while. But it's a six-tap kegerator that also has excess space for other beer / wine / whatever we need in the kitchen storage. 
  • Wine fridge (kitchen). Self explanatory. Dual-zone 155-bottle wine fridge that ensures that we keep all of our white and red at optimal storage (and serving) temp. 
  • Spare fridge (garage). Used for anything that exceeds the capacity of the kitchen fridge, cold storage of canned beer, most of our frozen meat, etc. 
  • Fermentation fridge (garage). Supposed to be dedicated to fermentation of beer. But as stated above, because the biggest limitation in our fridge/freezer space is freezer, it's been used primarily as a freezer. Basically holds most of the frozen foods / frozen pizza / etc that we have for kids' lunches and "frozen pizza night" when we don't want to cook. 
  • New upright freezer (garage). Basically added to increase freezer space but not be a chest freezer (due to limited footprint) to augment our freezer space such that I can turn the fermentation fridge back into a fermentation fridge, as I no longer need to care about its freezer capacity. 


So... Yeah. They all make sense to me :57:

Curious if any of you are affected the the Palisades Fires ?  I think BRAD is in OC. Others on here are around SF. 

Hope you west coast peeps are ok.

No issues here. I'm a good 60-70 miles from the fires.
