So, a SHIT TON of money was made off of Covid?

Shocking.

George Will wrote a scathing op-ed about Carter, just yesterday. On the one hand I thought: "wow, you need to do that now, to a dead 100-year old President?" On the other hand, maybe he was correct and said what needed to be said. I'm a lib, so I'm inclined to like ol' Jimmy. But honestly, reading what Will had to say, he was making some sense. Now, I wasn't old enough to really be conscious of Carter's presidency, and I mostly heard about the good things that Carter did in his old age. Probably he was a complicated, flawed human being. Probably a much better person than Will acknowledged, but probably also rather flawed.

People are weird like that.

He was a very good person who was in over his head as POTUS.

He did have some nice accomplishments, but for me they are all overshadowed by giving away the Panama Canal.

Given that NIH funded part of the COVID vaccine development work, it makes sense they would benefit from its "success".  It likely didn't cover the expense.

I was in high school during Jimmy's presidency

I'll remember him as a poor president and a very good person

Cases of a wretched stomach bug are surging in parts of the United States this winter, according to government data.

The most recent numbers from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show there were 91 outbreaks of norovirus reported during the week of Dec. 5, up from 69 outbreaks the last week of November.

Numbers from the past few years show a maximum of 65 outbreaks reported during that first week of December.

A norovirus infection is characterized by sudden vomiting and diarrhea. Outbreaks are often seen on cruise ships, in congregate living situations like nursing homes and jails, as well as schools and places where people are close together.

Campaigned for jimmy Carter in 76.  His presidency made me a conservative republican and ultimately lead me to libertarianism (small l).

Good person lousy president

I remember his reign well.

Gas prices were high and had gas rationing for the first time since WWII.

They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.
