Back in the day, when I was giving someone a performance evaluation, I'd tell them they were too contentious.
Then they'd start arguing with me, and I'd laugh.
Speaking of HR, they had a major effort at one point to rename evals to something else, they changed the name, and concocted five areas to be discussed, a format for them. This was "progress", I guess, everyone ignored it. My last boss would write them for me, he was quite good at it, I got to where I signed them unread. What he wrote made me sound better than anything I could write. The funny thing is nobody above him ever read them anyway. He had like eight bosses.
