Yes, and is the first Republican candidate to insist a national abortion ban be off the Republican platform since Gerald Ford.  So like I said, he has an opening, lets see if he takes advantage, particularly not having to worry about future elections, or if he caves

during a white board sidebar at a work offsite recently over beers, we were (a politically mixed group of people ages 30-60) talking about how Trump when purely lined up on a policy spectrum is about as close to 'center' as any (R) in anybody's memory.         This guy had a great column stack graph he drew freehand, wish I snapped a pic.

Well the next 2 years will show if R policies help or hinder the masses.  Nothing stopping them, no obstacles.  Red carpet is rolled out to either put on a grand display or crash and burn.  Time will tell.

When discussing the rarity of a president serving non-consecutive terms (Cleveland) with my students, the Dems' screwups seemed so obvious and were so easily correctible that they have no one to blame but themselves for causing the country to try Trump again.

The border mostly, but also Harris not saying she'd have handled the economy differently probably did it.  Not the trans stuff, not the most radical things.  But simply not having a sieve from Mexico and acknowledging policies that led to 9% inflation as bad were damning.

I refuse to tell my students who I voted for, but that the election must be respected as the will of the people, especially with the popular vote included.

survived the hernia surgery this morning

the afternoon was rougher than I expected

the doc warned me because there were 3 hernias to fix

the painkillers seem to be working

glad to have the procedure behind me

but, REALLY glad to have the election behind the country

Damn, missed this.  We need some young blood round here.  Whole board needs surgery.

As long as we are sharing, I got put on a statin prematurely, which caused major liver issues.  Made major diet and exercise changes, which brough blood pressure and cholesterol down, but I cant drop weight, and the liver issues remain, which appear connected.  Considering a lawsuit considering they jumped straight to a statin with a family history of non alcoholic liver disease, and now Im trending towards needing a liver transplant due to the unnecessary medication.  Seen two different liver specialists with the same take

The filibuster is still intact, for now, and the Courts might be obstacles, if for no reason that folks can file suits to slow down some steps taken.

Some "liberal" types on FB have expressed some really horrendous fears about DJT.  I think the "Hitler" charges have take hold with them.  Maybe they are right, but taking away women's right to vote or divorce?  Shipping trans people out of the country?  Martial law?

I guess I take a more midrange view of what Trump will actually get done, there are a lot of obstacles for much of what he proposes, and I frankly don't think he understands how to "work the system" very well, he is used to being a dictator (and probably would like to be one now).

The folks on the right often expressed very dire and dark fears about Biden, none of which came to pass, things like a global economic reset, etc.

Use of Statins in Patients with Chronic Liver Disease and Cirrhosis: Current Views and Prospects - PMC (nih.gov)

Statins were initially considered harmful agents for the liver, but current evidence now suggests that this drug class may have beneficial effects in some CLD as well as a potentially positive impact on the natural history and complications of cirrhosis. However, prospective interventional studies and randomized trial need to be carried out to confirm these observations. If the benefits of statins in CLD are confirmed, hepatologists will achieve better outcomes in their patients without significant additional costs.

My wife turned on the AC upstairs in our bedroom last night, and I just realized the heat is turned on downstairs and is running now.  I guess I should turn both off.

"I am certainly considering a house in Italy," Stone told the Daily Mail in July. "I think that’s an intelligent construct at this time. This is one of the first times in my life that I’ve actually seen anyone running for office on a platform of hate and oppression."

1. I wonder if she is aware of the political climate in Italy right now. I'll bet a paycheck she doesn't. Intelligent construct. OK...

2. One of the first times? There is only ONE first time.
