lulz...no.

It's Facebook's responsibility to let people claim hydroxychloroquine cures everything, and if they don't permit it you should be able to sue them. The Republican version of free speech.

My physician used hydroxy as part of his treatment approach (along with ivermectin), before any other plans were developed.

He had success with it, as did many others. None of his patients died.

Ventilators killed more people than those two drugs killed (zero).

This is why there was lots of pressure from government types to stop internet rumors. Hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin didn't treat COVID, but when people start believing it does then even doctors get in on the act. I'd say it is difficult for a company like Meta to make determinations on what they want to let proliferate and who is being a good actor.

The CDC at one time had ivermectin one of the top 5 effective cures for a lot of respitory problems. Of course Big Pharma couln't have that.I know of at least 3 people who were sick and used one or the other for their recovery and swear by it.

Reminds me of when I got into an internet fight (resulting in the first time I deleted Facebook) with someone who was talking about how they always used Zicam (a homeopathic remedy) when they got a cold and get better in a few days, and swears by it. I told her I always use nothing when I get a cold, and get better in a few days.

Yup.

A good example of this is the recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine that concludes Paxlovid (Nirmatrelvir–Ritonavir) is not effective and has no efficacy in treatment of COVID19, despite all the people who swear by it as the only reason they got through COVID symptoms.

And yet there it is listed on the CDC website as a viable treatment, and Pfizer is charging your insurance company $1400 per pop.

Big Pharma wins again.

This.
One area that I did see compelling evidence of the use of ivermectin for COVID having measurable benefit was in countries with high incidence of people having intestinal worms. I recall a specific meta-analysis that looked at the studies that showed benefit of ivermectin and the correlation between the countries those studies were done and intestinal worm infestation prevalence in those countries.

It seems that for people who were battling untreated worm infestations (common in certain third world countries), getting COVID caused the immune system to be overwhelmed, allowing the worms to flourish, and kill you. Not good.

Whereas if you took ivermectin to keep the worms in check, you were likely to resolve the COVID infection either on your own or with other types of actual respiratory medicines. So you lived.

I haven't seen any evidence that ivermectin, which is very successfully used as an deworming agent, as a standalone treatment is good for respiratory illnesses. But maybe it's out there.

I use the same medication --- nothing.

Got talked into Zicam once .... it did squat.

Another scam -- Mucinex.

Exactly. The last time I had Covid my new doctor here prescribed that stuff.

I called CVS and told them to cancel the order.

Man, they really tried to sell me on it... I never picked it up and the order was pulled after I told my doctor I didn't want it.

Use whatever you want. I don't care.

But when people use anecdotal evidence that they recovered from something that is not serious and most people recover from quickly with no intervention at all, as evidence for that thing working, I'm not inclined to put much stock in their assertion.

People who felt they were on the cusp and trusted the almost immediate results. These aren't mouthpieces for the left or right - they are friends. Informtion - puhleeze so much crap is edited out of the truth for big money interests one would have to be a shill or blind not to see it. Same as above. I'm not criticizing them for what they do, just as I'm not criticizing Badge for what he does.

The simple truth is that for some people, COVID is asymptomatic. For many, many others, it is mild. For some, it is a real pain in the ass. And for very, very few, it's life-threatening. But for most, the odds are that COVID will go away on its own if you do nothing.

So if you take a medicine for an infection that you were going to quickly clear on your own, it's REALLY easy to believe that the medicine was the reason that you quickly cleared it. Whether it's true or not.
