I mean I'm just a middle class schnob but I just moved a six figure account from one person to another without any of us appearing in person anywhere, but me putting a tick next to WhosIt or WhatsIt requires me to drive down and stand in line.
I’m leaning to making voting something that may be an inconvenience.  Not necessarily hard, but just something that takes just a little effort. Wait in line for 15-30 minutes. Maybe drive 20 minutes to a station.

The older I get the less I want lazy people voting.

Four people were arrested after breaching a security fence near the United Center where the Democratic National Convention is being held, Chicago police said.

computers can be hacked, votes deleted or altered. paper ballots are far more secure than voting via computer. And people can shove it up their ass and spare me this shit on the id thing- everyone has a fucking id. you need an id to do oh....fucking anything. buy a pack of cigarettes, alcohol, open a bank account, fly on an airplane, get on a train, receive welfare/medicare/medicaid, rent a car, pick up your kids from school. you name it- you need a fucking id for it. voting though? oh no problem....fuck that id.

I don't get how any of is this is hard to comprehend. elections should be as secure as humanly possible and ONLY American citizens should be able to vote. hence the whole...you know....id thing.

if you are too lazy to get your fat stupid ass off the couch and go wait in line to vote once every four years- then you don't deserve to vote. voting is not suppose to be about convenience or ease. it's about exercising your right to choose your leaders.

Admittedly Badge's example was one of early voting, not mail-in voting.

But I can say that I'm not fat, stupid, or lazy. But in 2000 I was at Purdue while registered to vote in IL. There was no way I was going to skip class on a Tuesday to drive ~2.5 hours to vote. I believe I was traveling on business on election day in 2008. What am I supposed to do, choose voting over my livelihood? In 2012 I had a business trip that took me to Calgary--I recall watching that election result from Canada. That was what spurred me on to choose the permanent mail-in voter status in CA. Because I *do* care about voting, but sometimes life forces you to be doing something else, or be somewhere else, on Election Day.

easy problem to solve....

a) continue to expand early voting so people can cast their votes well before election day.

b) election day should be a national federal holiday where people have work/school off mandated by law.

polls here in iowa are open either before work/school or after

it's election day, if it's important to you, plan ahead

I have no problem with voting by mail, QR code, or any means where you have to register, provide ID, and it can be validated

Sending out ballots, and sending out hired party affiliates to collect them, and not even trying to validate them- that’s what has happened in the past.

And non citizens.    Don’t even.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

NYT reporting that Biden signed a classified executive order in March altering current US nuclear strategy and commanding the military to prep for possible simultaneous nuclear exchange with Russia, China, and North Korea. #wedead #itwasniceknowingyall
