What he should have said was this:

"20 years ago, San Francisco was a great city. Great. Then Newsom and Harris took over, and now it's terrible. And now Newsom is trying to make all of California like the mess that he made of San Francisco, and Harris is trying to be President to wreck the nation the way she did there."

But he didn't. Because he's a monkey throwing feces.

serving in a Presidential cabinet doesn't make one any more likely to become President in the future. in modern history can't recall one person elected President who served a cabinet position of another President. you'll find a whole bunch of Senators, VP's, governors, and then....Trump. 

DeSantis running for Senator in Florida after his term as governor is over would probably be his best bet if he's trying to become President one day. Having said that, I don't think there's anything he can do. He just doesn't have that it factor. He's really just not charismatic or compelling at all. People like Obama, Clinton, Trump, hell even W (his first run before we all knew he was a blood thirsty psychopath).....say what you will about any of them or their politics- they were charismatic, funny, compelling, interesting. DeSantis is none of the above.

that is a fair point. however I think the fact that Joe's brain melted into jell-o and that he clearly was not in control of his own faculties let alone his own administration- many voters might assume that she was a) either really running things behind the scenes for him or b) providing cover and enabling the sh*t show of a farce to continue. either scenario......she looks pretty bad. convince the voting populace of either scenario and that seems like a winning strategy to me.

Or just stick to what we do know she was in charge of- and that is the one thing Ka-Hahaha was empowered and tasked by Biden to do- immigration- and it was nothing but an unmitigated disaster. I feel like if they just stay on message and hit her with that- they'll win. Stop talking about her race and AI photoshops of crowd support. People really don't care about that stuff.

Trump just can't help himself. 

People who think he's stupid are seriously underrating him, but he ends up saying stupid things out of sheer narcissism.  He just loves to hear himself speak, and he's unable to filter himself because he truly believes that every single thing that comes out of his mouth is clever or witty.
