A minimum wage of $16 per hour will inflate the cost of McD's menu.   And the more expensive fast food becomes the fewer customers they'll have.

It's really tough to tell without a demographic assessment.

For example, take me. I'm well-off enough that I can handle the fast food price increases. But I'm so dissatisfied with the value proposition that I'm either going to mix up (fast casual or full-service restaurant) or just cook at home. For me it's not a matter of being priced out, it's a matter of choosing other options--some of which are more expensive.

But I'd bet that for a lot of the poorer segment, they're just paying it. Many may not have the knowledge or time to cook at home, and not have the money to go upmarket.

So obviously I don't have any of McD's data on this, but it wouldn't shock me if their drop in same store sales was from their most affluent customers, not their least affluent. Fast food has basically lost me as a customer unless I'm on a road trip or have such a severe scheduling screwup that it's a necessity. I don't eat it any longer unless I have to. (In & Out excepted, of course.)
I don't remember the term for it but Economists theorize that certain budget goods actually see demand rise when their price goes up.

The example was bologna (yes, I sang when I spelled that). For simplicity assume there are only two meats:
  • Bologna at $1 per serving and
  • Steak at $2 per serving.
So if you are a poor consumer who can only afford steak once a week your weekly spend on these is:
  • $6 for Bologna $1*6
  • $2 for Steak
  • $8 Total
Now let's say the price of Bologna goes up to $1.14. A poor consumer can't afford to replace $1 or $1.14 Bologna with $2 Steak so they still but six servings of Bologna but that is $6.84 so they only have $1.16 left and they can't afford $2 Steak so they have to buy a seventh weekly serving of Bologna.

The prices also make other options look better. If Taco Bell is 4 bucks and Chipotle is 8, you might slum it with Taco Bell for the 50% savings. If Taco Bell is 8 and Chipotle is 12, now the savings are only 33%.

I'd guess folks are dining at home more often.  They may eat frozen pizza instead of pizza hut etc.

I was musing about my diet back in school.  I'd eat a bowl of Total for breakfast because it had vitamins.  I'd make two baloney sandwiches with mustard, nothing else, for lunch.  I'd fix coffee in the lab.  Then for dinner I'd do something, maybe grill some chicken and frozen peas.  For a real adventure going upscale, I'd drive to the S&S cafeteria in the mall for dinner.

It’s a well-documented phenomenon that despite learning and using sign language to communicate with humans, apes such as chimpanzees and gorillas have never asked questions.

Researchers believe this might be due to a lack of curiosity or cognitive differences between apes and humans regarding the understanding of the purpose of questions. This observation has been an interesting point in discussions about the cognitive and linguistic capabilities of non-human primates.

It has been widely speculated that Obama's fingerprints are all over this. He wants a 4th term, in my view.

I just assume Chick-fil-a took their lunch money.

Many of Biden's policies- especially foreign policies- were antithetical to Obama's. I don't think Obama wants a 4th term. Seems like some hyperbole. I'd simply guess Obama knew Biden was going to get his clock cleaned in November and he's a loyal establishment Democrat- and he didn't want them to lose power- so he backed a soft coup to get rid of Biden once and for all behind the scenes.

Trump is still the favorite- but the Democrats went from having zero shot- to having a real shot in November.

The MSM is trying to re-define VP Harris to make her more palatable to the average US voter.  The MSM is going to have a hard time with that, IMO.  She holds the record on tie breaking votes in the US Senate.  Lots juicy issues there such as the inflation causing $1.9 trillion American Rescue Act in March of 2021 and the $1.2 trillion Inflation Reduction Act.
Harris is running on a honeymoon/sugar high insulin injection- which let's be real here- was bound to happen seeing as how Biden was basically a dead person who walks amongst us. Anyone else would've had a little kickstart tick up. Harris however will fall apart at the seams once her actual record is scrutinized and she does more interviews and gets into the debates and has to think on her feet and respond to questions she wasn't anticipating- and the verbal diarrhea and word salad will flow like the Nile river.

See: her pathetic 2020 Presidential campaign run and Tulsi Gabbard sinking her battleship at the debates.

For Trump fans, he could have picked Steve Bannon and they'd have cheered it.

The problem with Vance is that he risks alienating the independents. The ones who might have been leaning Trump over Sleepy Joe, but they see Vance as wanting to usher in The Handmaid's Tale... Is Vance going to play well with suburban women? Because I don't think Trump needs to shore up support amongst the non-college angry incel male demo. He's got that one locked up.
damn what is that demo? is that like the complete opposite demo that Kamalala and the Dems have locked up of the white obese dyed blue haired LGBTQRETARD+ they/them/it college student with a worthless liberal arts degree that screams at their top of their lungs and marches with signs at abortion rallies- even though ironically no man within a 1500 mile radius would actually f*ck them and impregnate them?
