LOL, hey, I understand the impulse. But, that is why I'm pushing back on it. The main point, your main point, is that the media lied to everyone and no one could put their trust in them. The Dan Rather thing was some major issue, and there was no going back from it. Well, what happened to Dan Rather? He was canned, and the "major media" has been declining ever since.

Trump also lied, and in fact was doing this Alex Jones stuff before Alex Jones was a thing. It was brought him major appeal to Republican voters, the same voters that you claim care very deeply about being lied to. Trump ended up becoming president on this kind of stuff, and still claims it to this day. Whether he is lying almost seems besides the point, as if the media should be held to a standard in honesty and the president shouldn't.

Why is this so? I know you don't have a good answer. There is no good answer. But to claim I am stupid for pointing it out is silliness to the extreme.

The point that you are either stupidly missing or willfully ignoring is that IF we could trust the Dan Rathers of the MSM to tell the truth then Conservatives would have said "Well the MSM says Obama was born in Hawaii so that is that, he was born in Hawaii."  

Conservatives ABSOLUTELY DO NOT trust the Dan Rathers of the MSM to tell the truth BECAUSE the MSU lied to us for decades.  They have covered for the Democrats and attacked the Republicans for DECADES.  

That continues up to the present day.  I said upthread that I thought the Biden situation was an example of media bias coming back to bite the Democrats.  If the exact same situation had occurred only with Biden as a Republican with declining mental abilities the MSM would have POUNDED on the issue.  Instead, they covered for Biden because there IS massive left-bias from the MSM.  

The lies of the MSM opened this door and now that the toothpaste is out of the tube there is no going back.  I don't know what the solution is but you can't blame the VICTIMS of the original lie for now not trusting the MSM when they say:

• George W. Bush got preferential treatment in the Guard and we have unaltered documents that prove it, you can trust us.  
• Obama was born in Hawaii, you can trust us.  
• Biden beat Trump, you can trust us.  
• Biden is as sharp as he ever was, no problems at all, you can trust us.  

Some of those things are true.  Some of those things are not.  They are NOT trusted because of the things that are not.  That isn't the fault of the victims of their lies.

The fact that they will vote for him doesn't prove that they "don't care about being lied to", it proves that their opinion is that he is the best option.  That exists in a range of anything from:

• He is everything he says about himself, the greatest ever at everything to
• He is a terrible option but slightly less terrible than the other option.  

Vis-a-vis the latter, Biden was caught plagiarizing a British Politician and passing off said British Politician's back-story as his own something like 40 years ago.  That knocked him out of the Presidential Race at the Democratic Primary level way back in (I think it was) the 1980's.  

Did anyone walk into a voting booth in 2020 and said "I'm voting for (Trump/Biden) because they are a paragon of honesty while (Biden/Trump) is a compulsive liar."  

Anyone who did is too stupid to vote but not much can be done about that.

But many more do. What are we talking about here? Trump became popular BECAUSE he lied. That was his main ticket from celebrity to politician. His supporters ate it up and got him elected president. To say they care about being lied is living in pretend land.

I expect politicians to lie.
