someone hear said Kamala is the only one that can use the Campaign money that Joe has raised so far.

If that is truly the case, ......... She is the obvious choice
hope so

This.
And she'd have to decide to have an open convention, which no one would do in her situation.

But I read it on the internet so it has to be true

I don't think so . . .
not her choice
It looks like the vast majority of the Democrats are going to fall in line behind Harris but my understanding is that Joe Biden has the power to release his delegates but neither he nor anyone else has the power to compel Biden's delegates to vote for Harris or any other person.

If the delegates choose to fall in line (and they probably will) then Harris will be the nominee but if not then it is wide open.

My guess is that Harris wins the nomination easily on the first ballot at the Democratic Convention but, IMHO, if she doesn't win on the first ballot, stick a fork in her.

I would recommend to VP Harris that she not pick Hillary Clinton as a running mate.
A decade of Victory over Penn State.

All in since 1969

She'll pick a white male from a BG state, someone perceived as being more moderate.

I've never seen clear evidence the VP pick was pivotal, or even that critical.  Maybe it could pull a few votes in a BG state to make a difference.  But that is dubious too I think.  But she won't pick a black person or female for "balance".

I don't think Obama ever thought highly of Biden or had him closely involved in decisions, he was just a pawn.  Same here.

That’s already over.  They are all falling in line behind Harris.

my bet- she is your next POTUS

Yes, she is wildly unpopular and polls extremely low in approvals.  But….

people forget how powerful the MSM is at creating and controlling the narrative.  They will paint her as articulate, intelligent and accomplished. ( I don’t think you can credibly argue any of those things.)

As strong as Trumps base is, the anti Trump base is just as strong.  Truly, very few people left who will move off of that or are undecided.  They are not policy people.  They are modern absorbers of Social Media and our education system. That is far left leaning.  I like her chances.  ( personally, I wouldn’t hire her for an entry level job in my company- but I wouldn’t hire Trump either. )

People forget how much the media shapes the narrative these days- if you look T the 20 election, Covid, etc.
I disagree with the assumption that she wins.

For background I never got onboard with the @Mdot21 / @longhorn320 group that thought Trump would easily beat Biden either.

Allow me to explain my thoughts:
If we were to time-machine back to 44 years ago (I picked this because 1980 was a fairly close election).  If either Reagan (turned 69 in February of that year) or Carter (turned 56 in October of that year) had performed as horribly as Biden in the first debate, my opinion is that would have COMPLETELY changed the election.  The other candidate would have taken something like a 20 point lead almost immediately.

I think back then that the vast majority of the people felt that both sides had the best interests of the Country at heart.  Today I think that next to nobody believes that.  Instead the majority of D's believe that the R's are working against the country and the majority of the R's believe that the D's are working against the country and the majority of the neutrals believe that both the D's and the R's are working against the country.

Consequently, Biden's mental decline and current infirmity became unavoidably clear at the debate and the polls . . .

They didn't move all that much.

This is, IMHO, where we are:  We have two opposed camps each of which are only slightly below 50% that simply aren't going to budge.

Nearly half of the country was STILL going to vote for Biden even when we all knew that he was suffering from what appears to be something at least close to end-stage dementia.  This group will vote  for whoever has the "D" next to their name.

Nearly half on the other side would vote for Trump no matter what and if he is assassinated or otherwise removed, they will vote for whoever has the "R" next to their name.

There simply is not a large well of "undecided" voters from which to draw so, IMHO, this will not change things much.

So strange that it even got to this stage. It could be easily seen for several years that Bidens cognitive skills were diminished.
