They all use the same cluster of polls for the most part.  Nate has a very different method of deciding who is ahead based on far more than polls.  He's been pretty good in the past.  If he consistently projected Democrats as being stronger than they ended up being, he'd lose any credibility he has, I think, and drop off the radar.

I don't think Biden can win, and I expect him to bow out. I would say that for Democrats, the sooner the better, although I saw some arguing tonight, then you won't have anyone at the top of the ticket for 3-weeks. I don't see that hurting. While I agree on the potentially doom for Trump, it will not be about mental acuity or age.  That’s not a winning argument.  Guy is sharp as a tack.

Trump had a good chance at the convention to give a 25 minutes speech mostly calling for reconciliation blah blah, and apparently he didn't.  He is the best asset the Democrats have.  He doesn't NEED to convince his supporters, he needs to convince suburban moms et al.

At this point, I think a candidate in Trump's position would be well served to simply mouth "coach speak" for the rest of the cycle.  The usual blather we hear from politicians about helping the middle class and working man.

I didn't see/hear his speech but evidently like all narcissists he couldn't help himself from bellowing contempt and scorn from his blowhole. His only redeeming quality seemingly is as FF said is "he's WAY smarter than Joe and Kamala put together". And he wouldn't commit treason by opening the borders to the malevolent drag on US Taxpayers sashaying across. And all of those that arranged that should be given a Texas neck tie party

agreed. his speech started off very well and then he just wound up going off-script and rambling on for 93 minutes. 

he should've hired a great speech writer and stuck to script and kept it to 30 minutes and just tried to keep it all about bringing the country together. he had the perfect moment to really seize this thing after what happened to him and he failed. 

Biden's dementia is hurting Biden, Trump's ego is hurting Trump. Biden unfortunately can't do anything about his mental decline, you'd think Trump could do something about trying to shed the ego and show some humility and self-control.
