Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022 and worked as a dietary aide at a nursing home less than a mile from his family's house. A colleague told CNN that he had never expressed political views at work and wasn't "a radical."

Both of Crooks' parents worked as social workers, CNN reported, citing state license records. His mother is registered as a Democrat, while his father is registered to vote as a Libertarian.

I'd guess the parents would be the ones placing signs in their yard, or not placing signs.  We have two reports published, one saying they had "MAGA" signs, one saying they had none.  I don't see why it would be of consequence.  Everyone would like for the individual to be "highly political" in the other direction, but that does not appear to be the case at this point.

I've known some folks some might term "gun nuts", they were all pretty sane apparently, but had MANY guns in their possession, like 40+.  Two were coworkers, one of them taught the concealed carry course, he did a fine job I thought.  He had laid out about 30 handguns on his pool table for instruction purposes.  I'd probably term them "gun enthusiasts" rather than nuts.

I'd note in most states, being registered this or that meant they voted in that primary the last time they voted.

A main question for me is why once the shooter was observed by multiple LEOs, no one made a call on the radio to get Trump into a protected situation.

I don't know, how many guns do you own? If it's in double figures, maybe. Or if you wear Youtube gun swag.

There are lots of questions. I suspect we won't get a lot of true answers.

"The roof had too much of a slope" is not a true answer.

My wife is not a conspiracy theorist - far from it. But she asked me last night if I thought this was a setup. I could not answer her because I honestly don't know.

If it was not, then there was just a complete breakdown at every level, and people need to be fired.

That probably won't happen until January, given that the President thinks the head of the SS is a dude and has talked to "him".

It is not double figures and doesn't need to be. We can only use two at a time, but we do like variety and purpose.

We have one each of

S&W 9 Mil EZ
S&W 380 Bodyguard (Carry gun)
Heritage 22 Magnum
Colt 44 Magnum
PSA AR 15
Maverick 88 Shotgun

We have around 20K rounds of ammo in the house.

Things aronud here seem pretty "normal".  It's hot of course, it's July.  I sometimes muse about Sherman's troops in 1864 marching around in dark blue wool uniforms in this kind of heat.  Many were from the midwest, and upper midwest.  Cincinnati was pretty bad in July and August as well, more humid generally.  I went running yesterday and it was tolerable around 11 AM, there was a breeze and the track is about a third shaded.  I run on the track because the sand is a bit softer than asphalt and I know where I am distancewise.  I usually see 4-5 other runners out there, but I noted only 1 yesterday other than me.

I figure it's great that I can run at all at my age.  I'm certainly not fast.

There are five major construction projects nearby, but nothing new has broken ground in the past year, which is unusual.  Several have recently finished and opened, several of the one UC have topped out, one tall one it up about ten floor, maybe another year from topping out.  No new restaurants have opened in 6 months or so.  I get some sense things are slowing down on the economic front, at least around here.

A new BBQ place is proposed about a mile from us, it sounds like a winner, or so says Utee.  That would be good as Fox Bros. is a drive from us.  We dined outside last night about 6 next door, the weather was fine, but I got some mosquito attention, no apparent bites.

What is happening in your neck (other than being sore)?

Heh.  I view it as being a poor decision to have political markers on your person/house/car.  We're not allowed in the condo, which works for me.  The residential areas around us are 100% Biden signs, or no signs.  I suppose that is considered "safe".  I'd guess the nearest house with a Trump sign is 3-4 miles north.
