There is a difference between a teacher on their own deciding not to tell the parents and a school requiring teachers not to tell the parents

Correct. And I’m not in favor of the latter.

There is some difficulty in relaying news that quickly. You don't want to report Trump had been shot without some sort of confirmation of it. Feels like the kind of things no one would care about 20 years ago, but now when we have the news seconds after it happens you get stuff like that.

I find it weirder that this shooter was a gun nut that had Trump signs in his yard.

I don't see any evidence the shooter had signs of any ilk in his yard.  I'm not sure I'd call him a "gun nut" either, but that is qualitative.

He seems like a nut, I'm not sure any sane balanced person would do what he did.

I’ve been hoping that city would have fewer people for give or take 25 years, so hopefully that helps.

It sounds like he was a firearms enthusiast, though apparently not a high-end marksman. Also had some access to mental health resources.

I wish there was an easy way to repurpose most of these buildings.

A neighbor in Bethel Park, the Pittsburgh suburb where Crooks lived, said they saw pro-Trump signs in the family's yard as recently as a few months ago.

"There absolutely was MAGA-supporting signs for a while," Kelly Little told WTAE-TV.

Other reports say he was wearing a tshirt about a gun channel on Youtube during the shooting.

Actually, that sparks a question. How difficult is it to repurpose an old textile mill or an old factory? I guess as housing or some other space

So maybe one or both of his parents are Trump supporters. Who cares.

It's very clear that he was not.

What exactly is a gun nut?

It depends on the building and construction. Sometimes it's easier to do a complete demo.

With office, conversion to residential is hard. Plumbing alone usually kills it.

In Illinois, residential sewers are designed to accommodate 100 gallons/person/day.

Office is 10 gallons/person/day.
