IMHO neither the shooting nor the choice of JD Vance as a running mate change any of the state-level problems Trump has to get to 270.

I'm as anti-Trump as anybody, but from what I've seen he was leading in some of the key battleground states prior to the debate, and then got a significant boost. 

What are the state-level problems that you envision keeping him <270?

yeah there are zero problems for Trump getting to 270. he'll get to 270 easily. this will be a landslide victory. Biden will be the one with problems getting to 270.

Trump was leading by 2-7 points in every swing state before the debate and before the failed assassination attempt on him. And those numbers just going to go up and up the more Biden opens his mouth and the verbal diarrhea from his soft serve brain comes out.

Biden just has too much going against him. The economy/housing costs/energy costs/cost of living/inflation was killing him- his disastrous foreign policy since he's been in office was really hurting him- and all that was before that horrendous debate performance and the failed attempt on Trump's life. Stick a fork in Joe. He's cooked.

Trump will win, but taking a longer look, the Rs will have major issues once Texas turns blue.  CA+TX in the Ds back pocket is too much to overcome, even with a better candidate.

Idk if it happens in 4 years or 8 or 12, but it's inevitable.

The thing is that there is an error in Fro's logic. They've flipped some states with it already but then they (naturally) moved left which took Ohio and Florida off the table for them. It has also put PA, MI, and WI in play and MN is trending.

Texas has 38 EV's and went for Trump in 2020. PA (20), MI (16), WI (10), and MN (10) all went for Biden. If D's pick up TX but lose three or four of those it is a wash or close to it.

Just following the stats, no celebrating or racism about it.

I do wonder if the (de?)evolution of evangelicals from the church of Jesus to the church of money continues or gets walked back any once Trump is in the rear view mirror.
