One hesitation for me is my perception that VP Biden had almost zero influence over anything.  Maybe foreigners thought they could get influence, not knowing that, and maybe they paid for it, but if no influence was forthcoming, there is no crime.

I can't think of anything Joe did as VP that even MIGHT have been a favor to anyone, other than being quiet and invisible.
yeah, except that perception is just patently wrong.

Biden was the point man in Ukraine during the Obama administration and virtually in charge of Ukraine policy. Biden visited Ukraine over a half dozen times and I believe he visited Ukraine more than any US President or Vice President in history. His fingerprints and dirty little mitts were all over the US backed CIA coup of a democratically elected government in Ukraine.

KINDA F*CKING ODD that his crackhead son who had no qualifications or experience in the energy business and probably couldn't find Ukraine on a map gets paid millions of dollars in "consulting" fees by a Ukrainian energy company starting in 2013 when his dad was the Vice President of the United States and the point man for Ukraine- then the payments get cut in more than half not even two months after Daddy left office and the payments from said Ukrainian energy company to said crackhead son only ceased completely in 2019 when Hunter re-signed from his position at Burisma once Daddy announced he was running for office and the optics well looked horrible for Daddy to say the very least.

Yeah, if you want a humorous show about how useless the VP position is, and have HBO/Max, check out Veep. Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays the VP and she's just constantly getting marginalized.

One of the funny things is that every time she is getting back to her office she's asking her admin "Sue, did the President call?" and the answer is always no.
haven't seen the show, but the part about how useless a VP position just isn't true. Dick Cheney says hello. Bush SR was deeply involved in Reagan's covert and illegal operations- which makes sense seeing as how the guy used to run the fcking CIA. Biden ran point on Ukraine policy for the Obama administration- and Obama who was a young inexperienced smooth talking slick nothing burger community organizer before running for President and actually winning- leaned on Biden heavily on foreign policy in general, unfortunately.

Maybe Al Gore, Mike Pence, and Kamala Harris were useless, but not all VP's have been. Many actually did some shit.

Cheney should die dancing at the end of a rope and Dubya can be thrown out of a moving helicopter screaming.Along with Brandon,Pelosi and a few others. The rich got richer as the working classes were given the check and languishing

Trump cut taxes for the wealthy and didn't build a wall.  That's his resume.

The "Trump tax cuts" were fabriated by Congress, nearly as I can tell.  Trump signed what they handed him.

My real point is that, in politics, it's obvious you need as many allies as you can find.  Pissing everyone off isn't a route to  getting things done.  Reagan had O'Neill as an ally on the other side of the aisle, and it helped him get stuff done, at least earlier in his Administration.

Trump is full of bluster and promises about this and that, to me, it's nearly all hot air, he has no clue how to get actual useful legislation passed (if here is such a thing).

It's interesting to see the reactions out there as a result of a few Russian ships being 25 miles off of Florida on their way to Cuba.

He did that by just running for office, with his campaign pledge to drain the swamp. He was hamstrung from the start because of that pledge.

The Federal Government should be about 1/4 the size it is right now, and it was threatened. 93 percent of Federal employees vote democrat.

What did you think was gonna happen?

I didn't think much would really happen that was lasting, just as I don't think Trump would change much if he's elected.  I know liberals are claiming it will end "democracy" etc.  I just have very little faith Trump understands how to get ANYTHING done.  He's about bluster and bold talk, in my view.

He will of course make conservative judicial and other appointments, so there is that I suppose.

in his defense though, i do believe he flat out just got rolled by people a lot more shrewd and calculating than him. he's an ego maniac narcissist, all anyone had to do is kiss his ass and they were bound to have his ear and influence his decisions. i
perhaps not to the level of a moron, but..........

if Trump was so smart, he would have at the very least beat Biden in the election
regardless of some illegal votes

He tends to surround himself with criminals and idiots, and the non-idiots all end up hating him, which exacerbates the problem of getting things done.

One thing that the Biden administration is a country mile better at is running the high levels of the administration. Not much turnover, leaks, and drama. The Trump Cabinet was rank with yes men, sycophants, neer-do-wells, and all the mentioned leaks, drama, and fighting through the media.

I'm not sure why he even bothered to pay her hush money.  Clearly his supporters don't give a rat's ass that he banged a porn star.
This is the part that makes me laugh out loud. And….if he’s supposedly a billionaire and paying pornstars is might shady, why not pay it in cash ?  $130,000 should be peanuts for a supposed billionaire.
