Another thing I find interesting is how people identify themselves.
So, if you ask me what heritage is, I'd tell you I'm 100 percent German, raised in a Sicilian home (adopted).
I often find that when you ask a Jew what their heritage is, the answer is "I'm Jewish".
"Oh, your ancestors are from Israel?"
"No, Poland."
"Oh, so you're Polish?"
"No. I'm Jewish."
"Got it. OK, I'm a German Catholic and you're a Polish Jew."
"No, I'm Jewish."
"I need a drink."
It's confusing to me why this is the case.
