Damn. College season just ended and the WNBA just had their draft. That was fast.
WNBA plays over the summer, right?

I actually think the college stars are marketed better than the WNBA stars.

I'm not sure you know what the word "stars" means....

Kind of hoping Israel hits Iran's petroleum production and refining facilities to give the Biden administration the middle finger more than anything else.
That would be another reason for the Oil Barons to spike the prices however irrelevent it is to the US market

If the oil barons could spike prices at will, why wouldn't they be doing it all the time?

They play over the summer, but they have to figure out how to have their playoffs finished by the Thursday after Labor Day. Right now their playoffs are in October, and they get buried.

The price of oil, and gasoline, goes up and down routinely.  Why would it ever go down?  The price of gasoline today is very much in line with the prices over the past 50 years adjusted for inflation.

Did you somehow miss the "adjusted for inflation" part?

I'd guess the only reason gas isn't $10/gallon or more is the fear of government regulation such as other utilities

No, the primary reason is oil is a global market subject to global forces, and OPEC+ is the larger player in that.  Their aim is to adjust production to match demand as well as they can to support prices, as well as they can.  And they do a so so job of it.

If some "oil baron" could bump prices artificially, I'm sure they would, but they can't.  If say Exxon decides to charge more for refined products, other companies may decide it's a change to take more market share.
