We had a ton of "woke-like" stiff when I was working, 2000ish, a ton. Each director had part of his budget for "diversity training". It was garbage of course, companies spring up offering some version of it with poorly trained "moderators". One director confided in me he told his admin to find someone to do the training so he could check the box. It was "mandatory" of course but I just stopped doing around 2004 and nobody ever said a word to me. It came around once a year, usually at some off site. If you had the right group, everyone would silently persist and you'd get out around 2 PM with a free lunch, but often some newbie would want to debate and raise "points".
My guess is the CEO could then mention it briefly to the Board. Those outfits presenting the stuff probably were making $$$ for doing almost nothing.
