I think OAM is a bit more shrill, but this is mostly correct.

Part of the reason people can’t seem to stop talking about politics is because it allows them an outlet for inflamed passions. We want to be passionate and mad more than we really want to discuss politics at all.

Because of their base, politics are often dry, random, boring and deathly complex. Take the border, all of the issues surrounding that are sprawling to insane degree.

I didn't ask you for a meaningless statement of goal. I asked you to articulate what a "secure Southern Border" looks like. HOW do we implement this to your satisfaction. 

I get that you want cake. I'm asking what ingredients you actually need and how do you prepare them such that you end up with the cake you want.

For me there are numerous parts including:

• An effective physical barrier (doesn't have to be a "wall" but has to be effective).
• An end to current "catch-and-release" policies where violators stay in the country and not incarcerated while their cases wait and wait and wait.
• An effective system for employers to verify the right of applicants to work here and stiff penalties for violators.
• An end to birthright citizenship.
• A MUCH better system to track and remove visa overstays.
• An absolute prohibition on taxpayer funded benefits for illegal aliens.
• An absolute end to federal funds for any purpose going to "sanctuary" cities/states/counties, etc.
• Enforcement of still existing statutes prohibiting entry by those likely to be a "public charge" and mandating removal of those aliens who become public charges.

That would be a good start.

I doubt any of us do.  But our current immigration laws spell out legal means, which basically are "rights", for entering the USA.  One is to request asylum.  I personally have a right to enter the USA obviously and have done so many times.

The Administration CLAIMS entries are down today, whether I believe that entirely is another question.

My sense of this- besides that it is tragic for these people, is not that there are doubters.

We have been being told that either :
1.  This is not actually happening ( so the politicians and media who continue to say that are flat out lying.  “ don’t believe your eyes”)

or

2.  So what. Are you afraid of immigrants? They are mostly brown so that makes you racist.
