In other news, our HOA proposed a $330 K renewal of our lobby a while back, that got voted down. They then came up with reserve money to fund a slightly lesser renewal which is happening now, with attendant noise. It's in the background here, but present, as they chisel up the floor (which was a kind of white marble looking thing). A main feature is the concierge desk which was built too small for all the packages that now arrive daily, so they are expanding that, replacing the floor, redoing the walls, and furniture, etc. It's one of the "joy" of living in a condo (and this building is probably better than most in that respect).
I think we're going to head out for lunch, our guests left yesterday (early, I drove them to the airport at 5 AM). We're happy to be back on our own.
