Updates:

We are doing OK. Exhausted, but OK.

No more water boil is good. Still no power but linemen are out working on our place now. Still no propane delivery (today or Monday promised - yeah sure).

Thankfully picked up a 6.5KW Generac from Home Depot Sunday.

Also, thankful to have the means to do stuff like that without worry.

The wife lent my RTic cooler out without asking me. Would be nice to have for drink ice.

She will never do that again, trust me. She's on my shitlist, still. I'll send her out for gas and ice later as punishment.

I remember when our power was out for two weeks they restored it in stages

1st traffic lights

2nd gas stations and shopping markets

3rd residential
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

That makes sense. Gotta keep people from killing each other on the road when they are on their way to pick up food supplies to replace the food lost to spoiling due to no power.

Our local Spectrum news channel is actually pretty great.  Mostly sticks to the highly-relevant local news, and when they hit national and international stories, it's as close as you can get to straight up reporting without agenda-driven bulljive, these days.  It reminds me of what the mainstream media were like back in the 70s and 80s.

The just released FBI 2021 crime report omitted data from several large cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia for some reason.  Nevertheless, the US murder rate rose 4% over the 2020 record increase.

Data was omitted because the FBI changed/updated their report submission format and some departments haven't caught up yet.

More minorities have been killed over the last two years as a result of depolicing than were killed by police over the last fifty years.

Shocking ain’t it?  Turns out that maybe you do kind of need someone in charge, enforcing the laws, and maybe getting a little rowdy at times.
