I started reading the CNN/SI boards back then, kind of lurking but rarely posting. I always got a kick out of reading Hooky Hornsteins posts.

He was a master storyteller, no doubt about it.  I'm so glad I got to meet him in person, many times, over many years.

the dude would always go out of his way to meet me whenever I visited the Austin area

glad I was able to buy him lunch the last time I saw him

he let on at that time that he was having a bit of a health issue that the Docs didn't have an answer for..... but he didn't seem overly worried and also seemed to be in good health at the time

Yeah I got him to come around once a couple years back, but he's probably a lot better off not being on, anyway. 

These days he doesn't even come into town for the home games, so I rarely see him.

Yup, he does.  He used to come in for every home game no matter where he lived.  Now, it's pretty rare.

He visited us when we were in Kenosha a couple of months ago. Very disgusted with the state of the Texas program right now. Doesn't even watch the games mostly.
