I received my first rifle at 12 years old at Christmas, a Marlin Model 60 Glenfield .22 caliber semi-auto. I learned how to operate it properly, clean it and safely stow it away. I also learned to respect it and the power that it would have to take a life. I also was taught that until I had demonstrated the maturaty to respect the rifle and all other weapons, I would not be able to use the rifle unattended.
Making a law that so broad is never the answer. And limiting adults to what they can or cannot poses does nothing to deter criminals, intent upon evil acts, from breaking those laws. More laws are not the answer. The government doesn't enforce the ones already on the books, what makes anyone think they will any different with more laws?
